CYC Employment Application
  • CYC Junior Sailing Application 2026/7

  • Welcome to the Conanicut Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program!  Our program offers a safe and enjoyable setting where sailors of varying ages and proficiencies can build upon their sailing abilities while fostering respect for their fellow sailors, boats, and the marine environment. Emphasizing sportsmanship and respect, it is the instructors' responsibility to cultivate these attributes among the sailors. The program is dedicated to delivering top-notch instruction and offering a diverse range of boats and classes, aiming to inspire a lifelong passion for the sport of sailing.

We offer a variety of classes ranging from First Mates to Beginner, Intermediate, Adventure, Racing to High Performance classes in a variety of boats including Prams, Optis, Open Skiffs, C420s, Fevas, Quests, 29ers and J22s.  Our racing team competes in the Narragansett Bay Yachting Association (NBYA) junior regattas throughout the summer and we'll host a junior NBYA regatta at our club.

Hiring coaches who feel comfortable with First Mates, Beginner, Intermediate, Adventure Sailing + junior instructors. We are also seeking a qualified, high-level 420 race coach who can elevate our sailors’ skills and help bridge the gap for our developmental sailors into competitive racing. In addition to youth programs there are opportunities to work with our adult program.

First Mates is an introductory program designed to introduce children ages 5-7 to sailing, and to help them learn to be comfortable on boats and in the water.

Our Junior Sailing Program welcomes sailors of all backgrounds while providing a safe and fun environment where youth sailors aged 8-17 can improve their sailing skills, while learning respect for their fellow sailors, boats, and the water.
