We love that you are interested in being a Leader in Training at our Tween Retreat at Crestfield!
Here's some things you should know before you apply:
- You must be at least 15 AND in 10th grade to qualify.
- There are a limited number of LIT spots available.
- LITs must plan for their own transportation to and from camp.
- LITs must be able to be on site at Crestfield from Friday 28 at 6pm until Sunday March 2 at 1pm. (*Note that the Tweens will only be there from Saturday morning until Sunday morning. This is because the LITs will have some additional planning and debriefing responsibilities.)
- A video call interview may be a part of the interview process.
- If you are accepted into the program, there is a $50 charge to participate that will cover your food expenses for the weekend.
What can you expect to do in your role as an LIT?
- You're primary responsibilty will be to work with the adults in charge of the recreational activities at this retreat.
- You will work with these adults and the other LITs to plan skits, games, and other fun for the Tweens.
- You will be a role model for the Tweens.
- You will help with with Dining Hall clean-up.
- You can look for ways that you can uniquly give to the Crestfield community. Whether you have skills as an athlete, a musician, an artist, or even if you are just a loud person, Crestfield is a place where you can share your gifts.
- You can look for opportunities to connect with the Tweens and build relationships with them.
- You can get to know your fellow LITs because they are likely kids whose values are similar to yours. Sometimes the peers we work with at camp end up being our lifelong friends.
- As an LIT, you are a student and a mentee. Look for the adults around you who you would like to use as a model for your own life and ministry. Watch them in action. Talk to them. Learn from them.
