Camellia Festival Participation

Semmes Camellia Festival

The City of Semmes will host the Camellia Festival on February 7, 2026, from 10:00 am- 3:00 pm. The location of the festival will be the Semmes Boys & Girls Club Gym.

There are many ways to participate in the festival. Participation is free!

· Bring Camellia Blooms. If you have camellias on your property that you would like to show, please clip them the morning of the event and bring them to be displayed. We will provide the cups and water for them. If you bring a large variety, please bring a table and tablecloth, with a sign showing who is displaying them and any camellia identifying material you may have. If you bring only a few, they may be added to a table of others being displayed.

· Tablescapes featuring camellias can be created. Get creative. Think about how you can use camellias to decorate a table or make a display. You can use a table or other object to display. Displays need to be equal to or smaller than an 8ft table. You’ll need to bring your own tables, tablecloths, and any display or theme items used to create your display. A tablescape is a great way to showcase a business or participate as a group.

· Art Displays can be done. You can use full-size easels to display paintings and photographs or bring a small table to display smaller photographs and artwork. Those who are only displaying one piece may be added to a table with others if needed. Please be sure artist name can be seen. Additional types of art are also welcome. If you plan to do something besides a painting or photograph, please contact us so that we can figure out the proper display. Art can be sold at the show. Please be sure to have contact information and price easily found with the display.

· Historic Displays. We welcome information related to the history of camellias in our area. Please bring a table and tablecloth to display your items. Please contact us if your items will not work on a table.

· Camellias can be sold at the event. Please provide a bag or plastic wrap around the bases of plants sold to reduce the mess on the new gym floors. Please have pricing and contact information easily available at the event.

How do you plan to participate?

So we know what to expect, tell us in a little more detail about your plans from above. What is the theme of your tablescape? What kind of artwork are you bringing? Approx. how many blooms do you plan to bring? How much space will you need for plant sales, etc?

While it would be wonderful to have you there, you are not required to stay with your display throughout the event. However, if you do not stay, the City of Semmes cannot be responsible for your items.

Set Up

We will have the Boys and Girls Club open from 6:30- 7:30 p.m. the night before the event, February 6th for those that need a little extra time.
We will open the Boys & Girls Club at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the event, February 7th. Please be sure to have displays complete by 10:00 a.m.

The Festival will have a pageant starting at 1:00 p.m.

Breakdown

Breakdown will take place immediately following the festival at 3:00 p.m.
All items must be removed immediately following the pageant.
