Dragon Boat Festival Participation Agreement Event Name: The 3 rd Memphis Dragon Boat FestivalEvent Date: May 31, 2025 Event Location: Lake and stage and lawn at Shelby Farms ParkAcknowledgment and Assumption of Risk I, the undersigned participant, acknowledge that participation in dragon boat racing and related activities involves inherent risks, including, but not limited to: Physical exertion leading to fatigue or injury. Dangers associated with water activities, including drowning.Unpredictable weather or water conditions. Equipment failure or misuse. Risks associated with transportation to and from the event.I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in the event, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.Release of Liability and IndemnificationIn consideration of being allowed to participate in the Dragon Boat Festival:1. Release of Liability: I hereby release and hold harmless Memphis Chinese Community Center, their officers, directors, employees, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliates from any claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to my participation in the event.2. Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the above-mentioned parties from any loss, liability, or damages resulting from my participation, including attorney’s fees. Medical Consent: I certify that I am physically fit to participate in the event and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional. In the event of an emergency, I consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary by emergency responders or event organizers.Photography and Media ReleaseI consent to the use of my image, likeness, and voice in photographs, videos, and promotional materials for future events without compensation.General Terms1. Minors: Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign this waiver.2. Severability: If any part of this agreement is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.3. Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the laws of Tennessee.
