  • IMPORTANT: Annual funding requests for existing chapters (formed in 2025 or earlier) must be submitted by June 2026. Chapters which are newly formed, may submit the funding request by September 2026.

    Chapter Activity Support – MTT-S provides annual financial support to its active chapters. The amount of chapter activity financial support is $1,000 per year for single-society MTT-S Chapters or $500 per year for Joint Chapters which are associated with MTT-S.

    Chapter Workshop/Symposium Support – MTT-S has established a fund to aid needy chapters to organize technical events. The fund provides $500 seed money per chapter to aid in putting on a yearly event such as a workshop or symposium. For special workshops requiring more financial support, the chapter chair may reach out to the MGA committee.

    The requirements for a qualifying workshop or symposium are:

    • The meeting must be at least four (4) hours in length
    • An IEEE membership booth must be present at the event
    • The MTT-S Regional Coordinator must endorse the proposed event
    • MTT-S fund can not be used for paying remuneration to a speaker or any organization

  • Chapters must have fulfilled all the following requirements for an ‘active’ status to be eligible for this funding program:

    • Minimum of ten (10) members; five (5) members for Student Branch Chapters
    • Complete up-to-date Chapter Officer roster reported via vTools Officer Reporting
    • Minimum of two (2) reported technical meetings via vTools Events in the previous year, Chapters less than one year old are exempt from this requirement

    • The activity funding request is for the entire calendar year.
    • Activity funding amount is limited to 500 USD for a joint chapter and 1000 USD for a standalone MTT-S Chapter.
    • Workshop funding request is limited to 500 USD for a full-day workshop.
    • MTT-S funding cannot be used for remuneration for speakers. 
    • Workshop speaker diversity is strongly encouraged.
