  • RMHCSC Baking Program Overview

    We LOVE when bakers come in and fill the house with tempting aromas of baking cookies, brownies, breads, and more! Delicious treats are always a hot item with our guest families.

    Below is all the information you need about our baking program and to sign up to bake. 

     

    Good to Know Information:

     - You may bake whatever you'd like (except for cupcakes)! Brownies, bars, and pies are the most popular.

     - We CANNOT accept any homemade foods OR open ingredients of any kind.

     - All expenses are your responsibility.

     - We have mixers and bakeware for you to use.

     - You provide all the ingredients BUT we also may have them already on hand. We typically have butter, flour, eggs, oil, and sugar but we sometimes we run low. You can reach out to me 1-2 day before coming to see what we have before you go shopping for ingredients. 

     - Some of our guests may have food allergies or sensitivities so you will be asked to provide a list of ingredients or a copy of your recipe so that they can know whether or not they may enjoy your treats. 

     - Minimum age to volunteer is 10 years old. All volunteers ages 10-15 must be accompanied by, and supervised at all times, by a parent or legal guardian.

     - All participants must wear gloves and closed-toe choes while working in the kitchen. Gloves are provided.

     - Before you leave, please be sure to wash all dishes and sanitize all surfaces that you use. Bakeware and large bowls must be washed by hand.

    When can I/we come in to bake? Our kitchen is set aside for baking on select days and times. 

    What is the minimum age to come to RMHCSC to bake? TEN (10)

    Do I/we need to go through orientation or training in order to come in to bake? No
