    Get ready to be transported to a world of wonder at the 42nd Annual Butter & Egg Days Parade! This year’s theme “Petaluma’s Wonderland: Where Imagination Blooms,” invites participants and spectators to celebrate the magic of imagination and charm of our historic town. We are a curious community full of imagination and creativity. Watch as colorful floats, costumed participants, and lively performances bring this imaginative theme to life, celebrating Petaluma’s rich history and agricultural heritage with a playful twist.

    *Note: The Spring Antique Faire will be held the following weekend on Sunday, April 27.

    Date:  Saturday, April 19, 2025

    Time:  Festival:  10 am - 5 pm; Kids Parade: 11:30am; Main Parade: Noon

    Parade & Festival Location:  Downtown Petaluma ~ Parade starts at the corner of 4th & D Streets

    Festival Headquarters:  In the Great Petaluma Mill, 6 Petaluma Blvd N, on the second-floor landing (above 24 Hour Fitness). 

    The Parade will host over 130 units with approximately 3,000 participants and 200 volunteers. The Butter & Egg Days Festival is a feast for the entire family offering a wide variety of festival foods, crafts, arts, two large “kid areas” that includes jumpies, hands on activities, rides, and so much more, all spread over four city blocks. 

    Anticipated Attendance:  25,000+

  • We take care of our wonderful Volunteers!

    • We encourage our volunteers to attend the Volunteer Training Meeting on Wed., April 9th at 6pm, held at the Beverly C. Wilson Building at the Petaluma Fairgrounds.  Dinner will be provided as well as details about the event, a meet and greet with team leaders, and overview of individual tasks for Parade Day.
    • B&E volunteers will receive a B&E tshirt to be worn during event (unless wearing club uniform).
    • Coffee, water, soda, and snacks will be available at Volunteer Headquarters during the event.
    • Volunteers who work 5+ hours (2 shifts) will receive lunch on event day.
    • A few weeks after the parade we host a Volunteer Thank You Party for all our fabulous volunteers with dinner, drinks, and raffle prizes!

     Over 200 volunteers help with event set-up, pour beverages, carry banners, provide information, monitor parade route, and much more. Thank you!

  •  VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS

    Safety Monitor – Serve as a Crossing Guard / Crowd Host along the Parade Route to help spectators stay safe during the parade. (55 needed; 10:30am-2:30pm; 4hr shift)

    Banner Carrier – Carry sponsor or other signs and banners in the parade. (36+ needed; 11am-2:30pm)

    Stager / Marshal – Help check in and line up the parade units and walk with them in the parade in case they need assistance. (8am-2:30pm)

    Retail Booth – Provide Customer Service in Butter & Egg Days retail booths selling event merchandise, sodas, water, etc. (9am-1pm or 1-5pm)

    Sustainability Stations - Help direct the public dispose of their trash & recycling properly!

    Logistics Team Member – Help before and after the parade with a variety of duties: banner hanging, delivering supplies, ushering seating areas, returning banners & supplies to Headquarters, covering for breaks, etc. (2 shifts: 8-11am or 2-5pm)

    Beverage Garden – Pour & serve beverages, process credit cards (we're cashless!), check IDs & wristbands, remind people not to leave the Beverage Garden areas with alcoholic beverages. Our 2 Beverage Gardens are located at B St. @ Pet. Blvd. (SIRS) and Western @ Kentucky (L. Rooney). RBS training preferred (See below). Must be 21 & over; 48+ needed; 10am-1:15pm or 1-4:15pm.

  • WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ASSIGN YOU TO YOUR REQUESTED SHIFT(S) AND APPRECIATE YOUR FLEXIBILITY IF YOUR ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED IN A DIFFERENT ROLE ON EVENT DAY.  YOUR PARTICIPATION IS WHAT MAKES THIS EVENT A GREAT SUCCESS!

    If volunteering with a friend or group, please let us know. (If volunteering with friends, make sure you have signed up for the same shift. We can not guarantee shift changes.)

    As a group of 20 or more, you will get your logo printed on your tshirts and we'll put your logo on our website! (Note: Group form must be received by April 3rd to have logo printed on the groups t-shirts.)

I further agree to follow the guidelines and policies of the Butter & Egg Days Parade and Festival described therein. I hereby understand and agree to accept the risk of bodily injury and/or property damage which I may incur or cause a third party to incur as a result of my participation in the Butter & Egg Days Parade and Festival. With this understanding, I further agree to indemnify, defend, and save harmless the Petaluma Downtown Association, Inc, City of Petaluma, its Boards, its Commissions, and their respective officers, agents, contractors, and employees from and against any and all claims, losses, injuries, suits and judgments arising from, or in connection with me/my successors, assigns, heirs, executors, and administrators, and any other persons or entity's who/which may have a claim based on my personal injuries and/or property damage. I further understand and agree that this save harmless and indemnification shall apply to and all facilities that the Petaluma Downtown Association, Inc, City of Petaluma may own and/or control. I understand that segments of the media will be present at the parade and I grant an unconditional release for all rights of publications, press, radio and television present and future, along with all video and photographic rights by virtue of their appearance. I agree to receive emails regarding volunteering for this and future events.
