  • Black Country Living Museum would like to invite your Boat to take part in an event to re-create traditional canal scenes and activities in the Village and canal arm area. Boat owners who feel their boats comply with the requirements and would be prepared to enter into the spirit of the event by wearing suitable period clothing please register your interest by completing this form. Please note, only unconverted boats can be in the museum arm, any conversions will be outside the arm.

  • Please note: the number of boats the Museum canal arm can accommodate is limited. This form is an invitation to attend the event and does not guarantee acceptance.

    CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
    1. Boats should use appropriate materials (no plastic bags etc). Dogs not allowed in Museum itself, moorings will be provided outside of the museum for those with dogs
    2. Boats must display a current BW license
    3. The Museum (the Organiser) reserves the right to refuse entry of any boat not deemed to be appropriate to the event.
    4. All entrants must follow the instructions of the Organiser at all times. The location and movements of boats will be controlled by the Harbour Master appointed by the Organiser
    5. The Organiser reserves the right to move any boat from moorings prior to and during the Gathering as required.
    6. Toilets must not be discharged into the canal – a boaters’ facility is available outside the arm of the Museum.
    7. The area around the boat must be kept clean and tidy; all rubbish must be disposed of off site
    8. The use of inappropriate electrical equipment and/or power tools is not allowed during opening hours of the Museum
    9. Owners of boats moored or operating within the confines of the Museum must wear appropriate period dress within 1900 – 1963 time frame.
    10. The Organiser warns all entrants of the dangers of Weil’s Disease and other water-borne infections but cannot be held responsible should any such disease be contracted while attending or travelling to or from the event.
    11. Third party insurance to an indemnity minimum of £1,000,000 must be held.
    12. All entrants must sign the Registration form below to show that they agree to Comply with the Conditions of Entry as stated.
