  • An assualt
    An assault is any act by which a person intentionally or recklessly causes another to suffer or fear immediate violence, and is paired with battery which involves an act of physical harm or offensive contact to a person without their consent.

    Bullying
    Bullying is a behaviour that makes someone feel intimidated or offended. It can take the form of verbal and non-verbal conduct. Non-verbal conduct includes postings on social media outlets, by email or letter.

    Discrimination
    Discrimination means treating someone unfairly because of their age, gender reassignment, being married or in a civil partnership, being pregnant, disability, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

    Harassment
    Harassment is unwanted conduct physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct - which has the purpose or effect of violating an individual's dignity, or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment.

    A hate incident
    A hate incident is when you are being targeted with violent or abusive behaviour because of your race, gender, sexuality, ability or religion.

    Sexual misconduct
    Sexual misconduct is behaviour that is sexual in nature, unwanted, violates a person’s dignity, is intimidating, degrading and humiliating to the victim.


    Substance / Alcohol misuse
    A drug is a chemical substance which alters your emotional state, behaviour or the way in which your body functions. Similarly Alcohol is a colourless liquid produced by the fermentation process, which is the reaction of sugars and yeast. Ethanol is present in all alcoholic drinks and is what makes you get intoxicated.
