We are looking for speakers for STEM, LGBTQ & You 2026, the UK Regional oSTEM Conference! The conference is Friday 27th February 2026 in Birmingham, UK and online.
The theme this year is Science & Innovation, a theme which is close to our hearts. However, we are open to broad interpretations of the theme. Topics could include your research/work/studies, how you got into STEM, and how your LGBTQ+ identity has interacted with your experiences in STEM. Some examples of topics from previous years can be found on our website. We particularly welcome applications from from trans* people, disabled people and people of colour.
This year at STEM, LGBTQ & You 2026 we are aiming to bring a range of talks, panel sessions and interactive workshops. Sessions usually range from 20-45 minutes. Many of our sessions are talks but we are open to hearing from anyone who wishes to contribute and are open to suggestions and ideas.
We would love to broaden our approach to STEM this year, so please still apply, no matter how tenuous you may consider your connection to STEM to be!
We are offering speaker reimbursement for this event, and can offer support with travel costs.
Please contact us at stemlgbtqyou@ostem.org if you have any questions.
All information provided in this questionnaire will not be shared outside of the STEM, LGBTQ & You 2026 organising committee. Information is provided with the understanding that it will only be used to organise and promote this event and all data will be deleted after completion of the activities.
