• MuKappa Cabinet Application 2025-2026

    Thank you for being interested in applying to MuKappa through the ISP office! Before you begin your application, please review the next several pages to understand the expectations and important dates for all 2025-2026 ISP student leaders. President Application Deadline: Monday, February 17th, 2025 Cabinet Application Deadline: Sunday, March 23, 2025 **Please note, President and Vice-President may not also lead Passage in August.**
  • Student Engagement Leader Standards

    1. Commit to the mission and vision of the International Student Programs office and my cabinet. 
    2. Commit to the full-term August 2025-May 2026. 
    3. Engage in weekly meetings and maintain confidentiality as it relates to private or sensitive information. 
    4. Conduct myself professionally with my peers and staff, which includes accepting responsibility for choices, behaviors, communication and actions. 
    5. Follow through with all responsibilities assigned to my position and by my team leaders and professional staff. 
    6. Pursue personal spiritual growth: explore my own passions and develop my own talents, skills, and gifts as I serve in this role for other leaders, my organization, and the campus. 
    7. Serve as an ambassador of Wheaton College, embodying Christian ethics both on and off campus. 
    8. Compassionately confront inappropriate attitudes and behaviors of others. 
    9. Prioritize balance and perspective as a student: will maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA as well as chapel attendance requirements and not be on any probation with Student Development. 
    10. Work towards adaptability and versatility in the practice of doing work with others. 
    11. Grow in honesty with myself, knowing that honesty with oneself results in honesty with others. 
    12. Recognize my location and perspective as a leader in a certain cultural context and work joyfully to combat systems which may favor some disproportionately over others, to ensure belonging for all.

  • Mission

    MuKappa exists to create meaningful, Christ-centered relationships among TCKs, while simultaneously creating an international community that fosters belonging for anyone who has experienced cross-cultural transitions.

    Vision

    MuKappa will gather weekly for genuine, Christian fellowship in order to cultivate an environment of understanding in which TCKs can be known and can contribute vibrant, cultural learning to the Wheaton College community.

  • MuKappa Cabinet Commitments

    1.     Attend Sunday Night Dinners.

    2.     Attend weekly cabinet meetings (2 hours) and be mentally and physically present for the duration of the meeting.

    3.     Be willing to lead or co-lead the occasional event or project.

    4.     Inform the President or Vice-President of any changes of plans within a respectful timeframe.

  • Student leaders must attend the following events:

    1. ISP Banquet: Incoming student leaders attend ISP Banquet 2025 (Sunday, April 13th, 5-9pm) and ISP Banquet 2026 (TBD April).
    2. International New Student Orientation (President Only): President arrives on Monday, August 11th for 5:30pm dinner to prepare to lead International Student Orientation. You will organize and facilitate Orientation week events, including Passport to Wheaton for all new international students.
    3. Student Leader Training Week (all cabinet members): Cabinet members must arrive on campus by Sunday, August 17th for dinner at 5:30 pm to kick of SLT week. 
    4. ISP monthly Gather meetings (TBD, September-November 2025 & January-April 2026)- usually include dinner + a 1.5 hr training.

    In applying for this student leadership position within International Student Programs(ISP), I agree without reservation to abide by the expectations  of this organization, which are communicated in the job description, internal operation manual/handbook, and the student programming guide, and to reaffirm my commitment to Wheaton College and our  Community Covenant. I understand that ISP is a part of Wheaton College and seeks to serve  Christ and advance His Kingdom. As a student leader, I will honor my academic responsibilities first and leadership activities second.  I believe that we are a community bound together as brothers and sisters in Christ. Therefore, I commit myself to my colleagues in ISP,  by  seeking to love each one,  and to be a Christ-like example to them as well as to the students ISP serves.

    I understand that I will not be permitted  to serve if I am on academic probation, disciplinary probation or if my cumulative GPA falls below 2.5. I understand that I may not be able to serve if I am on chapel probation. Students on chapel probation will require permission from a Student Development Dean to serve.  I agree to voluntarily resign my position if I am or later become subject to academic, disciplinary, or chapel probation. 

    I also acknowledge that a student must also be cleared to serve as a student leader by various departments on campus, including: the Chaplain’s Office, Residence Life/Student Conduct, Registrar’s Office, Equity & Title IX, Student Care Services, and Student Wellness.  I agree to cooperate in any process initiated by these offices resulting from information arising out of this clearance process.

    By signing and dating below, I am affirming that I meet the above requirements and give permission for the free exchange of information between representatives from all the offices listed above, in relation to ISP for verification purposes.

    I understand signing this authorization is voluntary, and that refusing to sign this form does not stop disclosure of information that is otherwise permitted by Federal law (FERPA) with or without my specific authorization, consent, or permission.

    This authorization will remain active for 12 months from the date of signing. I understand that I may revoke this authorization at any time by contacting student.engagement@wheaton.edu. I also understand that if I choose to revoke  this authorization,  I may negatively impact my  eligibility to be selected or continue to serve as a student leader at Wheaton College.

    President and Vice President (returning cabinet members preferred)

    The President is responsible for vision-casting, planning and leading meetings (with the VP), delegating tasks to different cabinet members and generally accepting responsibility for the activities and well-being of the team. The President also meets weekly with the ISP Director to support their role, provide feedback for the team, and encourage leadership development.

    The Vice President (VP) will meet with the President to plan the weekly agenda and provide any additional support needed for the weekly meetings. They will help the President align meetings to the year's vision and can become a versatile role to other members on the team. The VP will be primarily responsible for team dynamics, which includes coordinating Cabinet hangouts and connecting one-on-one with other cabinet members. VP will also work with the President to maintain external relations with MuKappa (i.e. TCK Connect).

    Events Coordinator

    The events coordinator is responsible for taking notes on all conversation in cabinet meetings including discussions, brainstorming, and updates. These notes will be documented in the cabinet google drive, which the event coordinator is responsible for maintaining. They also oversee logistics for events which includes reserving rooms and checking out any equipment needed.

    Business Manager

    The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing all money transactions and financial records of the organization. This includes: managing weekly shopping and the use of the cabinet credit card, advising cabinet members on filling out expense reports for organization purchases and recording the amounts reimbursed, assisting in setting budgets for events, requesting checks for Snow Camp and brainstorming methods for saving and raising the organization’s financial resources.

    Publicity Managers (2 Positions)

    The Publicity Managers (2) are responsible for communicating on behalf of MuKappa cabinet to primarily the MuKappa community, but also to the broader campus. This includes making and putting up posters for events, maintaining MuKappa’s various electronic accounts, as well as maintaining MuKappa’s public image. Publicity managers also are in charge of composing and sending out weekly emails to the mailing list they maintain, as well as frequently checking and responding from the MuKappa gmail account. They are responsible for brainstorming creative solutions to both simplify and improve the organization’s communication with the MuKappa community and the broader campus.

    Worship Coordinator

    The Worship Coordinator heads a team of students in leading multi-lingual, multicultural musical worship every other Sunday, practicing once per week. They aim to lead worship for on-campus dinners, and the Coordinator should highly consider collaborating with other cabinets or worship and praise teams to hold an all-campus multicultural worship night once per semester or year. The Coordinator also commits to praying for the campus, MuKappa as a whole and the Cabinet weekly.
