FREE Zoom Calls: Photography Foundations for Creatives

Monthly, one hour, live zoom calls to help you in your photography journey! At the end of the 60 minutes, my desire is for you to know more than when our call started! Huge note: these are NOT calls to do an up-sale at the end. This is just me, offering some tips and help with the different topics scheduled! Calls are from 6-7pm PST

Thursday, January 30th: Introduction to Photography: Understanding the Basics---We will discuss the "Exposure Triangle" of ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture and how they are used. What is auto vs. manual. RAW vs. JPEG and more!Thursday, February 6th: Introduction to Long Exposures---I will explain how to dial in your camera settings to get wonderful silky waterfalls, ocean movement, cloud movement and more!Thursday, March 13th: Introduction to Compositions---We will discuss what exactly compositions are, how to find compositions out in the field, and a few different visual tools that you can use to help create your compositions.Thursday, April 10th: How to Add Mood and Drama into Your Photos---On this call we will talk about how lighting and different types of weather like fog can add great drama and mood into your photography creations. Also how simplicity, negative space, textures and mono colors can also do the same!Thursday, May 15th: It Is ALL About the Light!---We will discuss one of my all time favorite things while photographing: LIGHT! What are the different types of light? Looking for light to add to your composition, removing that light and even using shadows for impact!Thursday, June 12th: Introduction to Milky Way and Aurora Borealis Photography---This call will be an introduction to night photography. Typical settings to use. How to plan for these types of shoots. What other tools there are, like phone apps that can help you with your planning.Thursday, July 24th: Introduction to Lightroom and Editing---This will be a very basic introduction into editing in Lightroom. We will not do a deep dive, but I will help you to learn the basics about highlights, shadows, contrast, temperature, dehaze, clarity, saturation and so forth.August Date To Be Determined: Understanding what Different Lenses Do---We will discuss different types of lenses (zoom, prime, macro, wide angle) and what they are used for. We will also talk about using lenses outside their normal use to create some amazing photos!September Date To Be Determined: How to Properly Plan a Photography Shoot---On this call we will go over steps that will help you plan a successful one day or multi-day photography shoot, even if the weather doesn't cooperate!
