    The responsibility to provide entries, deductions, and statements made on your tax return is known as the Burden of Proof. You must be able to prove (substantiate) certain elements of expenses to deduct, generally, taxpayers meet their Burden of Proof by having the information and receipts (where needed) for the expenses. You should keep adequate records to prove your expenses or have sufficient evidence that will support your own statements. You generally must have documentary evidence, such as receipts, canceled checks, or bills to support your expenses. Additional evidence is required for travel, entertainment, gifts, and auto expenses. 

     

    BY SINGING BELOW, I UNDERSTAND TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THIS INFORMATION IS TRUE AND ACCURATE. I HAVE ALL MY RECEIPTS, LOG BOOKS, AND ANY OTHER INFORMATION REQUIRED TO SUPPORT MY CLAIM. IF I AM AUDITED THROUGH FAULT OF MY OWN, BY GIVING FALSE INFORMATION, I WILL NOT HOLD CARTER'S TAX ANGELS AND BOOKKEEPING OR ITS EMPLOYEE LIABLE. I AM AWARE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I SHOULD KEEP ALL MY RECORDS FOR A MINIMUM OF THREE YEARS FROM THE DATE OF THE TAX YEAR STATED ABOVE.
