Are you new to management? Looking forward to the day when you become a manager? Or have you been a manager in a think tank for a while but never had the chance to develop your skills with formal training? Then this training is for you!
Our all-day training session takes you through what makes a good manager, including a look at the peculiarities of managing in a think tank, through to how to transition to manager, how to successfully delegate, how to conduct performance reviews and give effective feedback and, finally, how to have those difficult conversations that crop up when managing people.
The day will be a mixture of exercises, group activities and theory with a heavy focus on interactive learning. Attendees will leave the day with clear actions they can implement with their teams. The training also gives everyone the chance to practice in a safe environment some of the harder skills of management such as holding difficult conversations and giving feedback. You will be working with your peers from other think tanks and attendees will be encouraged to share best practice, build networks and share their experiences as managers.
