- Submissions are only accepted via this form. We are unable to accep unsolicited material sent to us via email, text or any other form. Any scripts sent to us directly will be removed, and considered unsolicited material.
- Entry fee will apply, and is clearly stated in this application form. Once your submission has been received, we will email you an invoice against which you will be expected to process payment. No payment will result in your application being cancelled.
- You are welcome to submit an unlimited number of projects. You will have to apply individually with each project.
- For feature film submissions, a minimum length of 75 pages is required.
- For TV pilot submissions, a minimum length of 35 pages and the complete series' synopsis is required.
- The material must be the intellectual property of the applicant. If the script is written by more than one writer, the lead writer would be expected to carry out this application.
- The prize is non-transferrable. In the event that a winner is unable to attend the market and any other events in connection to it, they can only elect another writer to take their place if they are involved in the winning script.
- The submitted material will only be shared with the competition's jury, and will only be reviewed in relation to the Midlands Writers Competition 2025, in order to select the winners. The material remains the sole property of the applicant, and will not be shared with any third parties withou the full and written consent of its owner.
- It is important to remember that winning the Midlands Writers Competition 2025 does not constitute an offer of development, representation, employment, or engagement with the submitting writer or their project.
