    Bunny Adoption Application
Loving Bunnies Looking for New Homes
Well-cared-for bunnies looking for loving, permanent homes.

    Our adoption bunnies are:

    Desexed
Vaccinated — the next vaccination may be due soon, depending on the individual bunny
Individually assessed for their temperament and suitability for adoption

Our adoption bunnies may include retired breeding bunnies ready to enjoy life as much-loved companion pets, genuine rescue bunnies, and bunnies being rehomed by responsible owners whose circumstances have changed.

Many are toilet-trained, socialised, loving and friendly. Some bunnies, particularly those with a rescue background, may need additional time, patience, and understanding as they learn to feel safe, confident, and secure in their new home.

Information about the individual bunny and any particular care or behavioural needs known to us will be discussed with approved adopters before adoption.

They may make a wonderful companion for your current rabbit (of the opposite sex) or a loving companion pet as the only bunny in a home where someone is around regularly and can provide plenty of interaction.

    Adoption Costs — $230
There is no separate fee for the bunny.

Approved adopters are required to purchase an Essential Bunny Food Package, valued at $170, which includes familiar foods to take home with their adopted bunny.

Providing familiar food helps maintain dietary continuity and supports a smooth transition into their new home.

Adoption Consultation Appointment — $60 Prepaid
Once your application has been approved, an Adoption Consultation Appointment is arranged for you to meet the bunny and discuss their individual needs and care.

The $60 consultation appointment fee is prepaid when your appointment is confirmed.

Please do not bring other pets, including your current bunny, to the Adoption Consultation Appointment.

Total: $230 — including the $170 Essential Bunny Food Package and $60 prepaid Adoption Consultation Appointment.

Adopting a Companion for Your Current Bunny
If you are hoping to adopt a companion for your current bunny, please provide their details in your application.

Your current bunny must be desexed and vaccinated before adopting a companion.

PLEASE NOTE: To support the best opportunity for a stable long-term bond, we only offer a bunny of the opposite sex to your current rabbit.

Rabbit introductions and bonding are not undertaken as part of the adoption process. Please do not bring your current bunny to the Adoption Consultation Appointment.

Rabbit bonding should be introduced gradually and carefully after adoption. As every pairing is different, a successful bond cannot be guaranteed.

If you would like professional assistance, a separate rabbit bonding service is available through A Bunny Holiday Sydney for an additional fee.

    Housing & Care Support
We can assist new owners with suitable housing and other bunny supplies at a fair additional cost, as well as practical rabbit care advice to help your new bunny settle into their home.

    First Aid & Grooming
We also offer practical Rabbit First Aid & Grooming Lessons for owners who would like to learn how to confidently manage routine grooming, nail care and basic first-aid situations at home.

    Before You Apply To Adopt
Our priority is finding the right home for each individual bunny.

Completing this application does not guarantee adoption. Applications are reviewed to ensure that the bunny's needs, personality and circumstances are a suitable match for the proposed home.

Please complete the following questions as accurately as possible so we can learn a little more about you, your home and the life you can offer your new bunny.

    Permanent Adoption
Adoption is intended to provide each bunny with a permanent home, so please consider your decision carefully before proceeding.

We cannot guarantee we will be able to take back an adopted bunny if your circumstances change in the future. If you are no longer able to care for your bunny, please contact us so we can discuss the situation and any available rehoming options.

Please do not sell, give away or privately rehome an adopted bunny without contacting us first.

  • Health & Veterinary Care Acknowledgement
Every effort is made to provide accurate information about each bunny, including any known health history, vaccination and desexing information available at the time of adoption.

However, no guarantee can be given regarding the current or future health of an adopted bunny, including conditions that may not be apparent or known at the time of adoption.

The adopter understands that rabbits are living animals and that illness, injury, dental problems, genetic or age-related conditions, and other health issues may arise at any time.

Once the bunny has been adopted, the adopter accepts responsibility for the bunny’s ongoing health, veterinary care and associated costs.

New owners are encouraged to arrange an examination with their own veterinarian experienced with rabbits after adoption and to maintain appropriate ongoing vaccinations and preventive care.
