Our clinics focus on technique rather than workouts, providing swimmers with a strong foundation in all strokes and the drills that enhance each one. We also cover competitive turns, finishes, and diving to ensure well-rounded skill development.
With smaller groups than typical swim team practices, we prioritize individual attention to help swimmers in every level improve at their own pace. Each swimmer comes to us with a unique set of abilities, and we strive to teach them as much as possible during the four-week program.
To ensure the best experience for all participants, we assess Level 1 swimmers to confirm they are ready for the clinic and can progress alongside their peers. Please note that this is not a swim lesson program—coaches will not be in the water. Swimmers must meet the minimum requirements for their level to participate.
The age ranges provided are guidelines. If we have exceptionally advanced younger swimmers, such as super tots who can swim laps and handle the workload, we will place them in Level 2 or tailor competitive elements within their level to meet their abilities.
Please review the level descriptions carefully to ensure the best fit for your swimmer!
Level 1: Beginner Swimmers (Ages 5-7)
Level 1 is perfect for young swimmers who can swim 8-10 yards of freestyle and backstroke and are looking to refine their skills before trying out for a summer swim team. The focus at this level is on improving stroke techniques, mastering breathing patterns, and introducing new skills like diving, finishes, and underwater work when the swimmer is ready. This is a great starting point for building confidence and preparing for competitive swimming.
Level 2: Intermediate Swimmers (Ages 6-9)
Level 2 is designed for swimmers who can comfortably complete full laps of freestyle and backstroke. These swimmers may have some swim team experience or have excelled in lessons and feel ready to take the next step. This level focuses on refining existing skills, introducing more advanced techniques, and preparing swimmers for team environments in a fun and supportive setting.
Level 3: Experienced Swimmers (Ages 9-16)
Level 3 is geared toward swimmers who have completed at least one season on a swim team and are looking to enhance their techniques and build stamina before the next season starts in March. This level provides a focused environment for experienced swimmers to practice advanced skills, increase endurance, and fine-tune their performance to get ready for competition.
Makeup Days for Missed Classes:
Please note that makeups for missed days can be very challenging. While we cannot guarantee makeups, we will do our best to accommodate up to three missed days. If you know you will be missing classes, please see Bill to discuss possible options. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate swimmers who wish to mix weekday and weekend sessions or swap scheduled days. It is essential that swimmers attend their scheduled time. If there is a conflict, I will try to make arrangements if other swimmers will be missing, but please understand that we cannot guarantee more than three makeup days.
As always we will keep the numbers low as we want to teach all the skills and techniques, but we will include some time for sprinting and endurance. Diving, Turns, Finishes, underwater and pacing will all be taught and discussed. Relay starts and all stroke techniques will be taught or improved upon if possible.
I am looking forward to working this Fall Clinic with everyone. I have several great ex coaches and current coaches coming to work with us and I know it will be a very productive time.
