  • Grooming Preferences
    I understand that grooming preferences—such as haircut style, length, or special instructions (e.g., avoiding sensitive areas)—should be clearly communicated before the session. While the groomer will make every effort to accommodate these preferences, I acknowledge that adjustments may be necessary to prioritize my cat's safety and comfort.

    House Call Grooming Services
    I acknowledge that Meowtasia Feline Grooming provides grooming services in the comfort of my home. I agree to provide access to my bathroom, or an equivalent grooming-appropriate space, which must be clean, safe, and free of obstructions prior to the appointment. The groomer is responsible for cleaning up any hair and disinfecting the area after the service is completed.

    Pre-Existing Health Conditions
    I understand that it is my responsibility to inform the groomer of any pre-existing medical conditions my cat may have, such as allergies, heart or respiratory issues, or skin sensitivities. Failure to disclose such information may increase risk to my cat’s health and well-being during grooming.

    Matting, Tangling, and Undercoat
    I acknowledge that my cat may have areas of matting, tangling, or excessive undercoat that require additional attention. I understand that removing mats and tangles can be a delicate process that may occasionally result in minor cuts, irritation, or the need to shave matted areas. I release Meowtasia Feline Grooming from liability related to grooming procedures necessary for matting or undercoat management, and confirm I have been informed of associated risks.

    Anxious, Aggressive, or Nervous Felines
    I understand that if my cat displays anxious, nervous, or aggressive behavior, grooming services may be split over two appointments to reduce stress. In these cases, I agree to a one-time PurrCare handling fee of $40. I further acknowledge I will be billed 50% of the grooming fee at the first appointment, with the remaining balance due at the second appointment.

    Medication and Sedation
    I understand that Meowtasia Feline Grooming accepts cats who require medication or sedation to safely undergo grooming. I acknowledge it is my responsibility to administer any prescribed medication or sedation prior to the appointment, in accordance with veterinary guidance. Failure to do so may result in rescheduling or increased difficulty during grooming.

    Flea and Tick Policy
    I agree that my cat must be free from fleas and ticks at the time of the grooming session. If parasites are discovered, I understand that grooming will be immediately cancelled and a $100 fumigation and sanitation fee will apply to cover necessary equipment cleaning. It is strongly recommended to maintain a regular flea and tick prevention routine.

    Preventable Illnesses
    While Meowtasia Feline Grooming does not require vaccinations, I confirm that to the best of my knowledge, my cat is in good health and not carrying any communicable illnesses. I understand that failure to disclose illness or exposure to other sick animals could increase health risks for others, and I accept full responsibility in such cases.

    Mobile and Travel Policy
    I acknowledge that Meowtasia Feline Grooming is based in Truro, Nova Scotia, and provides mobile grooming services within a 30-minute radius. For locations outside this area, I understand that a travel fee may be charged based on distance, travel time, and accessibility. This fee is in addition to grooming service costs and may be quoted at booking or upon request.

    Do Not Disturb Policy
    For the safety of all animals and the groomer, I agree not to enter the grooming area or interact with my pet during the grooming session unless invited. I acknowledge that distractions, such as calling out to my cat, may result in stress, injury, or incomplete services.

    Emergency Medical Care Authorization
    In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize Meowtasia Feline Grooming to seek veterinary care for my cat. I agree to be financially responsible for any resulting expenses and understand that reasonable efforts will be made to contact me before treatment is administered.

    Groomer's Right to Refuse Service
    I understand that for the safety and well-being of pets and staff, the groomer may refuse or discontinue services at any time, including during an appointment. This may occur under circumstances such as: aggressive or highly stressed animals, health concerns that prevent safe grooming, incomplete or inaccurate client information, violation of payment or booking policies, any situation in which the groomer feels uncomfortable or unsafe, and aggression or disrespect toward staff, which I understand will not be tolerated under any circumstance. I acknowledge that if the groomer feels unsafe or disrespected at any point, they may leave or terminate the session immediately.

    Cancellation Policy
    I understand that a minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Unless due to an emergency, failure to provide sufficient notice will result in a $50 cancellation fee, which must be paid before additional services can be scheduled.

    Photography and Social Media
    I understand and agree that Meowtasia Feline Grooming may photograph or video my cat during grooming for promotional purposes including social media, the business website, and marketing materials. If I do not consent, I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to inform the groomer prior to the appointment.

    Pricing Disclosure
    I acknowledge that prices listed by Meowtasia Feline Grooming are estimates for cats with minimal to no mats, tangles, or clumping. Additional charges may apply for dematting, behavioral issues, or extended travel. Pricing may change without notice due to inflation or service upgrades and may differ based on the specific needs of each pet.

    Payment Terms
    I understand that I will receive a grooming quote prior to services, and that full payment is due upon completion. I agree to pay any additional fees related to matting, fumigation, or behavioral accommodations, and understand these will be communicated during the appointment.

    I acknowledge that for appointments involving multiple cats or high-value services, the groomer may request a 50% deposit or full prepayment at their discretion. I accept that my booking is not guaranteed until such payment is received.

    Payment Completion and Legal Notice
    I understand that payment is expected after services are rendered. If I am unable to make full payment at that time, I agree that a minimum deposit of $100 will be required, and I will receive a grooming quote that reflects this arrangement. The groomer will provide a written timeline for paying any remaining balance, which must be followed.

    I acknowledge that failure to complete payment within the stated timeframe may result in legal action, including a claim filed in small claims court, and may be reported as theft of services under local law.

    I understand that if I repeatedly request payment plans or give the groomer a difficult time with payment, I may be required to pay in full before any future services are rendered.

    I understand these accommodations are offered at the groomer’s discretion and is not guranteed. If a payment plan is arranged, I agree to abide by the timeline and terms provided in writing. These accommodations are intended to help clients while protecting the groomer’s time, services, and business.

    Privacy Consent
    I consent to the collection and use of my personal information by Meowtasia Feline Grooming for the sole purpose of scheduling and providing grooming services. My information will not be shared with third parties unless required by law.

    Governing Law
    This agreement is governed by and interpreted under the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia.

    Release of Liability and Acceptance of Policies
    By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to all policies outlined in this waiver. I release and hold harmless Meowtasia Feline Grooming and its employees from any liability for injury, loss, or damages related to the grooming services provided.
