About [freeform] 2026
[freeform] is an artist residency program for the 2026 calendar year. This is an unjuried, open-ended residency for artists all kinds located in Seattle and its surrounding region who consider themselves to have complex practices. The purpose of the residency is up to you: to explore, research, show your creative process, show finished work, etc. The only requirement is that you utilize the residency for creative purposes. The space will be handed over to your exclusive use for 5 days from a Thursday to Monday in the month of your awarded residency.
Application for 2026 [freeform] residency
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis and awarded in the order they are received. Your application is not judged in any way for its merits or value. The worthiness of your art is considered a given. At maximum, one residency per month during the calendar year will be awarded, with the exception of January, October, and December. There is no restriction on how many times an artist can apply, but please only submit one application per month, if this is your plan. Please allow up to two weeks for a response.
