The Graves Family Scholarship

Thank you for applying for the 2025 scholarship season. Please take a look at the requirements below to make sure you qualify. Ensure you have all your documents and complete the application in one sitting. You will not be able to save a partial application. Requirements
Application is due on March 7, 2025

The applicant must be:
- a graduating senior from an Spring ISD high school
- admitted to an accrediated HBCU
- have an overall GPA of 2.75 or above (on a 4.0 scale). 4.0 scale GPA must be displayed on the uploaded transcript.
Please be prepared to upload the following documents to this application. If all of the documents are not uploaded, the application will be considered incomplete. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Letter of admittance from an accredited HBCU
- Official transcript, reflecting GPA on a 4.0 scale
- 500-word essay on how attending an HBCU will help you achieve your future goals
- High resolution headshot (300 psi or above)
- One letter of recommendation from school personnel or community leader with a handwritten signature. For example a teacher, recreational sport coach, choir director etc. The person writing the letter can not be related to the applicant.
By submitting my applicaiton, I am agreeing the following statements:
1. I will use the proceeds of any scholarships received for the payment of books and supplies and/or tuition.
2. I will contact The Michelle Project if changes occur to any information submitted in this application.
3. I understand that submission of this application contributes permission to use my name and photograph for promotional purposes.
4. I understand communications are primarily sent via email. I will check the email address listed often and respond to correspondences accordingly.
If selected, the scholarship funds will be applied directly to the student's account through the designated university. We will be in contact once the winner is announcement to collect additional information.
