Identity Verification

As part of your application, we use Stripe Identity to verify your identity. You will be asked to submit a photo of a government-issued ID and take a selfie, which Stripe compares to the photo on your ID.

Stripe processes this information on our behalf and may create biometric identifiers from your selfie and ID photo solely to confirm you are who you say you are. Stripe retains biometric identifiers for up to one year and other verification data for approximately three years, under its own terms. The Host & Co. receives your verification result and can view the ID images and extracted information Stripe stores on our behalf through our secure Stripe dashboard. We do not receive or store your biometric identifiers, and we do not download or keep copies of your ID images outside of Stripe's system.

This is an identity check, not a background check or credit check. It is not a consumer report and is not used to evaluate your creditworthiness, character, or reputation.

If you prefer not to complete selfie-based verification, contact us at support@thehostandcompany.com and we will provide an alternative method that does not use biometric matching.

If you have already completed verification and wish to have your data deleted, contact us at support@thehostandcompany.com and we will delete the verification data Stripe stores on our behalf. To also remove the biometric identifiers Stripe retains under its own terms, email privacy@stripe.com directly.
