Thank you for applying to the Wake Forest Institute for Regnerative Medicine (WFIRM) 1-week 2024 Summer “Virtual” Academy in Regenerative Medicine for middle and high school students (ages 14 to 18). The 2025 Virtual Academy is held July 14 to July 17, 2025 via a Zoom Platform. We also offer an optional half day with special workshops and demos held on-site workshop at WFIRM in Winston-Salem, NC on July 18, 2025. Attendance is limited to 24 participants. No cost is associated with your paticipation; however, students will be provide a list of easy-to-obtain supplies for activites to be done at home. Purchase for supplies will not exceed $60.00.

Optional Week 1: June 9 to 12, 2025 - Middle and High School students are invited to attend the 12th Annual Regenerative Medicine Essentials Course. For applicants from the region, an option to attend this event live in Winston-Salem is available. Registration fee is waived for this event. Transportation or housing is not provided if students determine they would like to attend this event which features leaders in the field from across the globe.
Week 2: July 14th to 17th, 2025 - The WFIRM virtual academy deepens students understanding of the regenerative medicine field, team science, and various regenerative medicine technologies, approaches and applications by connecting students with WFIRM faculty and graduate students research mentors. Career and educational pathways are also explored with engaging hands-on activities to deepen understanding and final group presentations.
Optional July 18th, 2025 - On-site workshops and graduation at WFIRM This aspect is optional, it is notable that students who register from outside the Winston-Salem/North Carolina region may be unable to attend. However, students from outside the region have often made arrangments to do visit in consultation with their family. This is at the students and guardians discretion. Housing or transportation is not provided.
