TERMS & CONDITIONS
I - These Terms & Conditions constitute the Contract between YOU (the pet owner or agent) and US (emBARK Pet Transport), herein called “Embark”. Our employees are also protected under these Terms & Conditions.
Whereas the utmost care and attention is given to clients’ pets, they are handled with the understanding the Embark, our affiliates: Boarding Kennels, Airlines & Veterinarians; are at no time to be held responsible for the loss, death, illness, injury or accident due to any cause, either natural or accidental.
II - The Estimate given is based on Dimensional Weight of the Pet's Travel crate. Any Change in dimensions of pet and/or travel crate, supplied by owner, representative of owner or emBARK (if being supplied by US) may result in additional freight charges.
Embark’s handling charges and fees within the Estimate are valid for 14 days. Estimate is based on current tariffs at the time of providing, and freight tariffs, are subject to increase without prior notification. Any increases are to client’s account and must be settled prior to shipment. Embark cannot be held responsible for airline delays, cancellation of flights, incorrect routings by airlines, change of aircraft type or available capacity by airlines, or loss of veterinary documents by airlines. Additional charges for kennelling and/or transport are to client’s account. Please note, our Estimates do not include Customs Clearance, airline handling charges or Tax/Duties at Destination, unless specified in the Estimate. Embark is authorized to seek veterinary attention should this be required, whilst pets are in boarding kennels or our care. Any additional veterinary charges are to the client’s account. We reserve the right not to handle vicious or illegal dogs.
Accepting of our Estimate automatically gives emBARK Permission to charge up to $1000 for Vet Fees PLUS any necessary Transport required. All Boarding costs whilst in kennels are to the client’s account and for animals staying for long or indefinite periods, account must be settled in advance. Should departure dates be delayed, extra kennelling costs are to the client’s account and must be settled prior to departure of pets.
ESTIMATES, DO NOT INCLUDE the following, unless they are specifed within the estimate:
Residential Pick-up / Vet Services /. Government Endorsement of Documents / After hours Svcs. / Weekend or Holiday Surcharges / On-Route Comfort Stops / Long Distance Transport / Boarding / Import or CITES Permits / Destination Services and Fees ie. Warehouse Terminal Fees, Vet Inspection, Customs Clearance Services, and/or Delivery to Residence / Quarantine booking & fees / Crates / Accessories for Travel
Rush Service Surcharge: $100 for Domestic Relocations (within weeks of Estimate acceptance)
/or / $250 for International Relocations (within 6 weeks of Estimate acceptance date)
III - PAYMENTS:
ALL PAYMENTS ARE TO BE MADE VIA: CASH, E-TRANSFER, Credit Card, WIRE TRANSFER, or CERTIFIED CHEQUE.
Deposit Terms:
DOMESTIC and USA Bound pets (Canada to Canada or Canada to USA) - Payment of Estimate/Invoice in Full*
Canada to Worldwide (other than Australia or New Zealand) - $2000 per Pet + Crate**
Canada to Australia or New Zealand - $3000 per Pet + Import Permit & Quarantine Fees* + Crate**
*- if we are applying for IP (Import Permit) and Quarantine
**-Crate cost due only if obtaining certain crates from us. ie. PP90, PP100, Customs Build or Special order. Custom Build or Special Orders are non-refundable.
NOTES:
Should there be an amount owing in the end (ie last minute crate upgrade, and/or freight Costs associated), this is to be settled within 2 days. Refunds may take up to 4 weeks, depending on the airline and their invoicing date to us
IV - AMENDMENTS, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
AMENDMENTS: Please be aware that once the booking is received, any amendments will incur a $100 amendment fee. (unless agreed upon in advance, due to special circumstances). If the Amendment occurs within 7 days of planned departure date, the fee will increase to $200
CANCELLATIONS: For Countries Other than Australia and New Zealand
In the event a booking is cancelled, the amount Refunded will be the difference of Amount paid Minus the following:
Cancellations Greater than 30 days of departure date:
IMPORTS: $300 cancellation fee will apply*
CANADA - DOMESTIC SHIPMENTS: a $300 cancellation fee will apply.*
INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS: a $500 cancellation fee will apply.*
Cancellations within 30 days of departure date, the greater of 50% of the Invoice or $500 cancellation fee will apply*
Cancellations within 14 days of departure date, Full forfeiture of Deposits given*
* - PLUS any additional costs to embark (ie. Credit Card Fees, Vet Service, Vet Fees, Boarding, 3rd party service payments, etc) that may have incurred prior to receiving notice.
CANCELLATIONS: For Australia and New Zealand
Cancellations greater than 30 days of departure date: the greater of $1000/pet PLUS Import Permit* and Quarantine*
Cancellations less than 30 days of departure date: the greater of $2000/pet PLUS Import Permit* and Quarantine*
* - If applicable & PLUS any additional costs to embark (ie. Credit Card Fees, Vet Service, Vet Fees, Boarding, 3rd party service payments, etc) that may have incurred prior to receiving notice.
