    Thank you for choosing Notoriety Taxes to assist you with your tax preparation needs. This letter outlines the scope of our services, your responsibilities, and the terms of our engagement.

     

    Scope of Services

    We will prepare your federal and state income tax returns based on the information you provided. Our services include:

    Prepare and electronically file your federal and state tax returns.
    Assisting you in applying for available refund advance loans or refund transfers (Bank Products).
    Review your tax return with you to ensure accuracy before submission.
     

    Bank Products

    If you choose to apply for a Refund Advance Loan or use a Refund Transfer option, you authorize us to:

    Use your tax return information to apply for the bank product.
    Deduct our preparation fees from your tax refund.
    Provide your tax information to the financial institution that offers the refund product.
    Please note that we are not responsible for the approval or denial of any refund advance loans or for any delays caused by the IRS or state tax authorities. Additional fees may apply for bank products, which will be disclosed to you during the application process.

     

    Your Responsibilities

    You agree to provide complete and accurate information necessary for the preparation of your tax return.
    You acknowledge that you are responsible for maintaining all relevant documents and receipts.
    You agree to review your tax return carefully before signing the IRS e-file authorization (Form 8879).

     

    Fees

    Our fee for tax preparation and bank product services will be deducted from your refund. If your refund is insufficient to cover our fees, you are responsible for paying the remaining balance.

    Please note that additional fees for bank products may apply, as outlined by the financial institution.

     

    Confidentiality

    We are committed to protecting your personal and financial information. We will not disclose your tax return information to any third party without your consent, except as required by law or to facilitate the bank product.

     

    Limitation of Liability

    While we will make every effort to prepare your return accurately, it is your responsibility to provide correct and complete information. We cannot be held liable for any penalties or interest that may arise from incomplete or inaccurate information provided by you.

     

    Acknowledgment

    By signing below, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this engagement letter and authorize us to proceed with preparing and filing your tax return. You also authorize the application of any bank products if requested.

  • Due Diligence Acknowledgement

    his Due Diligence Acknowledgment confirms that you, the client, have provided complete and accurate information for the preparation of your federal and state tax returns.

     

    By signing below, you agree to the following terms:

    Client Responsibility

    You have provided all necessary documentation, including but not limited to:

    Income information (e.g., W-2s, 1099s, business income)
    Dependents’ information (e.g., birth certificates, school records)
    Proof of residency for dependents (e.g., lease agreements, utility bills)
    Proof of eligibility for tax credits (e.g., Child Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit, American Opportunity Credit)
    Any additional documents required to substantiate the claims made on your tax return.
    You acknowledge that you are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of this information, and that any incorrect or incomplete information could result in changes to your tax liability, penalties, or disallowance of certain credits.

     

    Tax Preparer's Due Diligence

    As your tax preparer, I have followed the necessary due diligence procedures to ensure that your return complies with IRS requirements. These procedures include:

    Asking the appropriate questions to verify your eligibility for any tax credits.
    Reviewing the information and documents you provided.
    Completing the appropriate due diligence checklists and worksheets for refundable credits (EITC, CTC, AOC).

     

     

    IRS Penalties and Consequences

    Failure to provide accurate information may result in the IRS denying certain credits or imposing penalties. If the IRS audits your return, you may be required to provide additional documentation to support the claims made on your return.

     

    Acknowledgment of Understanding

    By signing this form, you confirm that the information you provided to prepare your tax return is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. You also acknowledge that I, as your tax preparer, have performed the necessary due diligence in accordance with IRS regulations.

     

  • Data Privacy Agreement

    his Data Privacy Agreement outlines how your personal and financial information will be collected, used, and protected by Notoriety Taxes during the tax preparation process. By signing this agreement, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our privacy practices and consent to the collection and use of your information as described below.

     

    Information Collection

    We will collect the necessary personal and financial information required to accurately prepare your federal and state tax returns. This may include:

    Personal identification information (e.g., Social Security numbers, birthdates)
    Income documentation (e.g., W-2s, 1099s, business income)
    Dependent information (e.g., birth certificates, Social Security numbers)
    Banking details (e.g., for direct deposit of refunds)
     

    Information Usage

    The information you provide will be used exclusively for the preparation of your tax return and related services, such as applying for tax credits, refund advance loans, or bank products if requested. We will not use your information for any other purpose without your consent.

     

    Information Sharing

    We will not disclose your information to third parties except under the following circumstances:

    To financial institutions involved in the processing of tax-related services (e.g., refund transfers, refund loans)
    To comply with legal obligations, such as a subpoena or audit by the IRS or other authorities
    To third-party service providers who assist with electronic filing, tax software support, or other essential services (all third parties are required to protect your information to the same standard as our firm)

     

    Data Security

    We are committed to ensuring that your personal information is secure. We employ a variety of industry-standard security measures, including encryption, secure file storage, and access control to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.

     

    Retention of Information

    We will retain your tax return information for 3-7 years in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations. After this period, your records will be securely disposed of or returned to you as per your request.

     

    Client Rights and Consent

    You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time, subject to legal obligations. By signing below, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your personal and financial information as outlined in this agreement.

     

    Acknowledgment

    By signing this Data Privacy Agreement, you confirm that you have read and understood our privacy policies, and you consent to the use and protection of your data as described above.

     

  • Record Retention Policy Agreement

    This Record Retention Policy Agreement outlines the policy regarding the retention, storage, and disposal of your tax records by Notoriety Taxes. By signing this agreement, you acknowledge your understanding of our record retention practices and agree to the terms outlined below.

     

    Retention Period

    We will retain copies of your tax returns and related documents for a period of 3-7 years after the date of filing. After this period, we will securely dispose of your records unless you request otherwise in writing.

    You should retain copies of the following documents for your own records:

    Copies of tax returns
    Income documents (W-2s, 1099s, etc.)
    Receipts and documentation for deductions, credits, and business expenses
    Any correspondence with the IRS or state tax authorities
    It is your responsibility to maintain these records, as we will not retain them beyond the specified retention period.

     

    Record Storage

    Your tax documents will be securely stored using both physical and digital methods. We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your records from unauthorized access, including encryption and secure file storage. During the retention period, you may request copies of your tax returns or supporting documents by contacting our office.

     

    Record Disposal

    At the end of the retention period, we will securely dispose of your tax records by either shredding physical documents or permanently deleting digital files. This disposal process ensures that your personal and financial information is protected and destroyed in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

     

    Client Acknowledgment and Responsibility

     

    By signing below, you acknowledge that you understand our record retention policy. You agree that it is your responsibility to retain your own copies of tax returns and supporting documents for future reference. You also acknowledge that once the retention period has expired, Notoriety Taxes will no longer be responsible for maintaining or providing copies of your records.

     

  • Tele-appointment

  • Notoriety Taxes offers virtual tax services for clients who prefer to file online or require guidance from the comfort of their home or office. This policy outlines the procedures for teleappointments to ensure a smooth and secure experience.

    Scheduling a Teleappointment

    Clients can submit their tax information securely through our online portal.
    After submission, clients may book a virtual appointment at a time convenient for them using our scheduling system.
    Teleappointments are available via video call or phone call, depending on client preference.
    Preparing for Your Teleappointment

    Ensure all relevant tax documents, including W-2s, 1099s, receipts, and prior-year returns, are uploaded to the online portal before your scheduled appointment.
    Verify that your internet connection, camera, and microphone are functioning correctly if using video.
    During the Teleappointment

    The session will focus on reviewing submitted documents, answering questions, and providing guidance necessary to finalize your tax return.
    Our team may provide instructions on additional documentation needed or corrections required to complete your filing.
    Security and Privacy

    All information shared during the teleappointment is confidential and protected in accordance with federal and state privacy regulations.
    Clients should not share login credentials or sensitive information through unsecured channels.
    Rescheduling or Cancelling

    Clients may reschedule or cancel teleappointments with at least 24 hours’ notice.
    Repeated no-shows may result in restrictions for future virtual appointments.
    Technical Support

    If you encounter technical difficulties before or during your appointment, please contact our support team via email or phone.
    By using our teleappointment service, clients acknowledge that they understand and agree to this policy.
