The Event Manager of the Year award was established to recognize an athletics administrator that has demonstrated exceptional performance over the past year in terms of ability to provide sound, logistical direction when considering a complete portfolio of intercollegiate events for which the nominee is responsible and/or exceptional orchestration of a major intercollegiate event(s).
Nominees will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Is a dues-paying member of CEFMA. Nominees MUST be a current dues-paying member of CEFMA in order to be considered.
- Demonstration of exceptional coordination and execution of event management responsibilities for one or multiple sports seasons.
- Development and implementation of policies and procedures aimed at enhancing the safety, security, and/or enjoyment of student-athletes, staff, and guests.
- Consistency in executing intercollegiate athletics events.
Nominees will be evaluated based on the body of work between January 2024 and February 2025. One (1) award winner will be selected and the nominee MUST have direct responsibilities in collegiate event management.
As part of the award, the selected recipient will receive the following:
- 2025-26 CEFMA Membership
- Complimentary registration for the 2025 CEFMA Convention, June 8-11 in Orlando, FL
- Three (3) nights hotel accommodations at the Marriott World Center Resort
- Travel stipend up to $400 (reimbursable following Convention)
- Public recognition during the 2025 CEFMA Convention
The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 14. The recipient will be notified in mid-April.
