    This form is for IOWA residents only. If you are not from Iowa please return to the entry form page and select the correct form. 

  • Eligibility:

    IMPORTANT: The Iowa Fish Art Contest is accepting digital submissions only.

    • The Fish Art Contest is free and open to all persons in grades K-12 (aged 5-18 years old).
    • Only one entry is allowed per person, previous entries are not eligible. An entry consists of an entry form, artwork, and creative writing submission (writing required for grades US participants 4th-12th grade).
      • Creative writing may include a short story, poem, haiku, or another type of writing.
    • Artwork must include one or more of the following Iowa species: Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Brook Trout, Walleye, Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish, Bluegill, Iowa Darter, Crappie, and/or Muskellunge
    • Entries must abide by the guidelines and be submitted by February 28th, 2025.
    • Mail-In Entries are not accepted - please scan and upload your artwork in this form.

  • Online Submission Instructions 

    • Download the Student Information Sheet: Fill out all required details for each student.

      • If you do not have Excel, you may upload the file to Google Sheets to edit

    Artwork Submission:

    • Submitting online:

    Artwork: Save each file with the student’s name, grade, and species in the file name (e.g., "JohnSmith_Grade4_Trout.jpg").

    Essays: For student’s grade 4 and above, save each essay file with the student’s name, grade, and “essay” in the file name (e.g., "JohnSmith_Grade4_Essay.jpg").

    Uploading Artwork:

    • For scanned artwork and essays, gather all files in a folder.

    • Zip the folder and upload it to the entry form, along with the completed Student Information Sheet.
