  • Frequently Asked Questions

    • What is your pricing like?
    • Overall, my pricing reflects a formula of $150 per hour.

      Full day rate (~7hrs) - $875 - $200 deposit required.
      Half day rate (~3.5hrs) - $525 - $100 deposit required.

My minimum is $125, and that generally applies to any smaller tattoos that will take me under an hour to complete. A $50 deposit is required.

    • What is your tattoo style?
    • I would consider myself in the realm of blackwork and illustrative realism. I really enjoy working with imagery that could be considered mystical, ethereal, magical, fantasy-like, horror-esque, and gothic. I typically work with a style of shading called stippling or pepper shading, as opposed to smooth greywash shading, so my tattoos look more like pencil and pen drawings as opposed to hyper-realism.

My favorite kinds of tattoos to do, and what I would like to do more of:

      • Illustrative realism portraits (MUST have a high-quality reference photo)
      • Illustrative realism animal-portrait hybrids (ex., my Ozzy Osbourne portrait with bat wings emerging from his head)
      • Illustrative realism mixed with blackwork (ex., the tattoo I did of two realistic female vampires inside of a blackwork/illustrative style handmirror)
      • Dark, feminine floral
      • Blackwork with elements of chrome
      • Chrome tattoos
      • Chaotic blackwork
      • Anything Halloween, horror, or occult themed

Styles I am open to trying:

      • Neo-traditional (color or black and grey)
      • American traditional (I started out tattooing traditional and am experienced with it, just fell away from it--I'm not opposed to doing more)
      • Kawaii style and anime tattoos
      • Japanese traditional
    • What don't you tattoo?
    • Placements I do not tattoo are as follows:

      • Face
      • Head/scalp
      • Inner lip
      • Eyelids
      • Neck
      • Behind the ear
      • Throat
      • Nipples/areolas
      • Genitals
      • Palms
      • Side of or underneath fingers
      • Feet

Styles I do not feel comfortable with are as follows:

      • Watercolor
      • Hyper/photo realism
      • Color hyper/photo realism
      • Sticker tattoos
      • Stitching/embroidery tattoos
      • Cybersigilism or tribal
      • New school

There are plenty of amazing artists in the area that do this kind of work and these kinds of placements, but I am not one of them. If you'd like any reccomendations, feel free to reach out via DM and I can connect you with one of my coworkers or one of my pals!

    • Will you do a cover-up tattoo?
    • Generally, no. BUT, it depends on the cover-up.

If the tattoo is small and/or faded, we can certainly talk about your options. If the tattoo is large and/or too dark, you may need to consider a few sessions of laser before a cover-up is possible.

Cover-ups can be tricky. The main goal is to camoflouge and distract rather than actually cover. And, typically, the cover-up will need to be around 2-3x larger than the original tattoo. Piling pigment on top of pigment will do realistically nothing in the long run, so it's best to work with the original tattoo instead of against it.

    • Do I need to pay a deposit?
    • Yes, I ask for a non-refundable deposit upon booking. If your deposit is not paid within a week of booking, your appointment will be cancelled and you will need to request another slot.

Here's the bold faced truth most artists won't tell you: your deposit not only holds your spot in my calendar, it ensures that I am paid for my time designing your tattoo, and protects me from being no-showed after spending said time designing your tattoo and setting up for your tattoo. We are not paid an hourly rate like most of the world... we only get paid when we tattoo someone. Period.

Rest assured though-- your deposit DOES go towards the final price of the tattoo. We don't just keep it (unless you don't show up for your appointment). For example... if your tattoo is $500 and you left a $100 deposit, you will only owe $400 the day of the tattoo. Easy peasy!

    • Will you send me a picture of my design ahead of time?
    • No.

I typically draw my designs for that week on the preceding Tuesdays, AKA my admin days. Sometimes life happens though, and I may not even draw the design until a day or two before the appointment.

Because of this, I ask that when filling out your forms, you be as detailed as humanly possible, and include as many reference photos as you can give me. No amount of detail and direction will be too much. I thrive on instruction, direction, and having absolutely no room for misinterpretation or error.

If you aren't able to be explicitly decisive and exact, I ask that you trust my creative process and whatever weird magical madness happens inside my brain.

If we have to make small adjustments and changes the day of your appointment, that's totally fine. But any major changes or complete redraws or redesigns will result in being rescheduled.

    • What do I need to bring with me?
    • You will need to bring a valid form of ID and a valid form of payment. We accept cash, cards (with chips), and tap to pay. However, forms of payment that are not cash will incur a $5 processing fee.

Some things you can bring to make yourself more comfortable:

      • Snacks
      • Water (must be a container with a lid or cap, per health department)
      • Headphones, book, kindle, tablet, etc
      • Extra jacket, sweater, or small blanket
      • Charger for devices
      • Stress balls or fidget toys (I do have a small box of fidget toys available, but I can't guarantee I'll have your favorite things. I just ask that if you borrow one, you leave it out for me to clean instead of putting it back in the box!!)
      • You may bring ONE friend/family member/support person, but please keep it limited to one person. I have a very small working space and I cannot accomodate multiple bodies!

PLEASE NOTE: Althought we are a family owned and operated establishment and we try to be kiddo friendly, I would still advise leaving kiddos at home that cannot be left unattended. At the end of the day, this is still an adult-oriented space. I cannot control what they might see or hear. There is also a risk of them touching biohazard or getting into pre-sterilized single-use equipment. If they touch and contaminate supplies that I cannot re-sterilze, you may be asked to cover the cost of the contaminated items.

    • What's a good tip?
    • Tips are always appreciated, but not required.

I price my work at exactly what I believe it to be worth. Of course, I will never be opposed to a monetary thank you. But it's certainly not a requirement.

If you aren't able to leave a cash tip but would still like to give me something, I am always happy to receive things like homemade baked goods, trinkets, artwork, crystals, bones, handmade items or jewelry, drinks and snacks, hugs, song reccomendations, facts about animals, a breif but informative soliloqy about Egyptian burial practices and what their makeup would have been made out of (I am still an anthropology and history nerd at heart)... yknow, casual stuff. ;)
