Agha Engineering is hiring a graduate Hydrology & Hydraulics EIT in its Houston, Texas office. This person will primarily be responsible for assisting with projects within our Water Resources group. On a daily basis, this person will be performing hydrologic and hydraulic studies for flood control projects, storm water drainage systems, master drainage plans, and highway drainage systems. A successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar with an emphasis in Water Resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs a variety of clearly defined assignments that require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Using prescribed methods, applies techniques to specific civil engineering projects
- Reads/interprets surveys and researches design options
- Excellent verbal/written communication. Responsible for writing and creating technical project reports
- Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS
- Work in projects that include hydrology and hydraulic modeling
- Supports mid and senior level engineers to complete planning, research preliminary design, and may be required to perform detailed design H&H modeling tasks.
- Assists with the preparation of documentation including plans, maps, drawings, reports, data spreadsheets, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Basic working knowledge of standard software for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including USACE HEC Software (HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoHMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-DSS), SWMM, and ESRI ArcGIS.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar EIT certification
- 2 years of experience in Water Resources
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
