Airport

Washington Reagan National (DCA) is the closest airport, located about 15 minutes from Capitol Hill. 

Baltimore Washington International (BWI) and Washington Dulles International (IAD) are each about 45-50 minutes away. Depending on the cost of airfare, it may be cost-effective to fly into BWI or IAD and take a cab to DC. (Factor in a cab fare of about $50 each way.) 

*Note: If departing Washington on Wednesday evening, make sure that plane reservations are not scheduled for earlier than 7:00PM to avoid missing the conclusion of the Briefing.

Transportation

If you are flying in, we strongly recommend that you do not rent a car. Parking on Capitol Hill is unreliable and difficult. There are taxis or other ride services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) available to choose from for transportation purposes.

However, if you are driving into the District, we recommend that you park at Union Station and take the Metro down to the Capitol South stop (there is virtually no parking around the Capitol). When you exit at Capitol South, you will be directly behind the Cannon House Office Building and across the street from the Capitol.

The Metro is a fantastic mode of transportation and highly recommended. The Capitol South stop will deposit travelers at the appropriate location for then walking over to the House Office Buildings.

What is the Cost?

There is no charge for the Pastors' Briefing; however, all attendees are responsible for arranging and booking their own travel and accommodations.

 

What is the purpose of the Briefing?

This is a unique educational and informative opportunity for ministers to hear from the hearts of some of the top Christian congressional leaders in the country. Our hope is that you will return home encouraged and educated about the issues of the day that affect faith and family and that you will be inspired to share with your congregations what they may do to take a more active role in the political process.

 

Who may attend a Briefing?

The Pastors' Briefings are intended for pastors and ministry leaders – those who exercise substantial influence in the church.

 

What about Spouses?

We invite spouses to participate with the pastor, any spouse of ministry leaders must be registered to attend. Please use the 'Add Another Registrant Button' to register your spouse.
However, due to limited space and the nature of this event, children and additional family members are not encouraged to attend.

 

May I bring a gift for the speakers?

WallBuilders Briefing policy prohibits attendees from distributing gifts or flagging down the speakers before or after their presentation during the Briefing. Direct contact with the speakers needs to be arranged with that speaker’s office prior to your visit. (This means no “pictures in the hall.”)

 

What about Photos?

While photos are welcomed and encouraged for both the Capitol Tour and the Briefing session, please remember that our policy does not allow for personal photos with any of the speakers. Arrangements for personal photos must be prearranged and confirmed through that individual speaker’s office and may not take place during the WallBuilders Briefing session.

 

What is the Itinerary?

The Briefing will kick off on Tuesday evening with the Capitol Tour beginning around 6 PM. Events on Wednesday will be held throughout the day. Specific details will be sent to confirmed attendees as the briefing date gets closer. Please see the Travel Tips page for flight itinerary suggestions.

 

What hotel should I use?

What about Luggage Storage?

Please allow plenty of time for travel on Tuesday so that you can check into your hotel before the Capitol tour as there is not a place to store luggage during the tour.
