I agree to hold Kern Canine Activities Corp., Linda Watson, Rena Coston, owners of the premises upon which the classes are held, and members, trainers or instructors, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to be caused directly or indirectly to any person, dog, or thing by the act of this dog while in or upon the class premises, and I/we personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I/we further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of this dog by disappearance, theft, death or otherwise, and from any claim for damage or injury to the dog, whether such loss, disappearance, appearance, theft, damage or injury, be caused by negligence of any other person, or any other cause or causes. I/we hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify and hold the aforementioned parties harmless from all loss and expenses (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by the law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves) or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my(our) participation in this class, howsoever, such injuries, death or damage to property may be cause, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may have be alleged to have been caused by the negligence of the aforementioned parties.

I have read and agree to the above statement:

  • Kern Canine Activities as a club and as members will: 1.Not knowingly misrepresent Kern Canine Activities and will provide honest,

Professional services of the highest standards. 2. Develop and apply training programs in line with KCA's mission of advocating Dog-friendly positive training. Require trainers to assess their knowledge, experience and qualifications and work within their professional limits. Treat all dogs and clients with respect, taking into account their physical and psychological well-being and respecting clients wishes regarding the training of their dogs. Refrain from giving guarantees regarding the outcome of training, because there is no sure way to guarantee the cooperation and performance of all parties involved and because the knowledge of animal behavior is incomplete. 3. Incorporate what it means to be a responsible dog owner into training programs. Be respectful of colleagues and other professionals and not falsely condemn the character of their professional acts.

4.Will not be cruel, abusive or neglectful to animals or humans, and will treat all other clients and their dogs and all animals with respect.

    Kern Canine Activities members will:

    1. Always conduct themselves in a manner which will reflect credit upon themselves and Kern Canine Activities, regardless of the location or circumstances.

2.Maintain the best possible standard of canine health, cleanliness and veterinary care in an atmosphere conducive to the stable development of their dogs.

    3. Provide safe housing, food, water and exercise for all dogs under their care and arrange for appropriate veterinary attention if and when required. 4. Abide by all aspects of the Animal Welfare Act. 5. Not allow any of their dogs to roam or to cause a nuisance to neighbors or any official. 6. Keep their dogs leashed or under effective control when away from home. 7. Clean up after their dogs in public places or anywhere their dogs are being exhibited. 8. Not bring aggressive dogs to general classes without permission from the trainer. 9. Be pleasant and respectful in all KCA classes to both the trainers and other handlers and their dogs. Will not be disruptive in the class, but will keep all grievances until after the class to be discussed privately with the trainer.

Finally, if any member is found to be acting in a manner that is egregiously inconsistent with this, Kern Canine Activities Code of Ethics, than Kern Canine Activities shall have the right to terminate their membership as provided for in the Kern Canine Activities Constitution and bylaws. I have read the Kern Canine Activities Code of Ethics and agree to their guidelines
