to introduce the Artist and their works to the public. The Artist is encouraged (but not required) to attend.
3.3 Insurance: The Gallery will provide insurance coverage for the artwork during the exhibition period, covering the value of the work while on Gallery premises against risks of theft, fire, or damage, subject to the Artist's written appraisal of the artwork's value.
3.4 Sales Handling: The Gallery will manage all sales transactions and will be responsible for invoicing, collecting payments, and providing sales records to the Artist.
4. Artist's Responsibilities
4.1 Artwork Delivery: The Artist is responsible for delivering the artwork to the Gallery on or before ______________. Delivery should be made to 914 Front Street Georgetown SC 29440. The artwork should be delivered in ready-to-display condition, including necessary framing, wiring, or other presentation requirements.(No alligator-style hangers, please)
4.2 Artwork Pickup: The Artist will be responsible for picking up the artwork after the conclusion of the exhibition, no later than _____________________. If the artwork is not picked up by this date, the Gallery may charge a storage fee of $25 for each day the artwork remains in the Gallery's possession.
4.3 Artist's Commission: If any work is sold during the exhibition, the Artist will receive 50% of the sale price. The Gallery will retain 50% as commission.
4.4 Promotional Materials: The Artist will provide the Gallery with the following materials
- High-resolution images of each work
- Artist's Biography
- Artist Statement
- Any other relevant materials (e.g., press clippings, exhibition history)
5. Financial Arrangements
5.1 Gallery Commission: The Gallery will retain a commission of 50% of the sale price of each artwork sold during the exhibition.
5.2 Payment to the Artist: The Gallery will remit the proceeds of any sales to the Artist within 30 days after the exhibition's conclusion or after the sale. Payments will be made via
5.3 Exhibition Fee: The Gallery will charge the Artist an exhibition fee of $65 to cover the cost of the exhibition (e.g., reception food & beverages, space rental, administrative costs, etc
6. Liability and Insurance
6.1 Liability: The Gallery will take reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of the artwork. However, the Gallery shall not be responsible for any loss, theft, or damage of the artwork unless caused by the Gallery's gross negligence or willful misconduct.
6.2 Insurance: As noted in Section 3.3, the Gallery will insure the artwork for its value, as indicated by the Artist.
