Sunscreen Authorization
Maryland Department of Health Sunscreen Memo
Effective 2017, The Center for Healthy Homes and Community no longer considers sunscreen a medication that requires a prescriptive order
SJPDS Summer Camp Sunscreen Policy
A parent or guardian must have initialed and signed the consent form (this form) in order to for SJPDS staff to assist a camper in applying sunscreen. SJPDS Summer Camp does not provide sunscreen. Parents are strongly encouraged to provide sunscreens that are conducive to “touch-free” application, including “stick” or “spray” sunscreen. Staff will encourage and coach students to self-apply sunscreen, before applying sunscreen (with signed consent) using PPE (gloves and mask). Lastly, parents are encouraged to first apply sunscreen prior to morning drop-off.
