  Criminal justice investigation and proceedings: The criminal investigation in Barnahus, including the forensic interview, respects the procedural safeguards of both the child and the defendant. A child-friendly forensic interview is carried out according to an evidence-based protocol by a specialised forensic interviewer to secure the best possible evidence and to protect the child from (re)traumatisation. The interview is recorded and represents admissible evidence in Court.

  1. A motivation letter, in English, summarising the main points of the documents you are submitting, and why you want to join the Barnahus Network.
  
  2. Documentation showing you are running a Barnahus. The documentation should describe your plans for development, capacity building, awareness-raising or any other activity that you engage in. This may be in any language. It should describe the commitment and action taken by the applicant to establish, promote, develop or implement Barnahus. It should give an overview of what stage you are in implementing Barnahus, including any areas which are not yet implemented or are actively being worked on. This document can take any format, including a letter, an annual report, a planning document, or something else that you already use for your planning or reporting. We encourage using existing documents rather than creating a new one for this application, and filling in any additional information in the letter.
  
  3. An interagency agreement OR a letter of support from a national agency or ministry. This may be in any language.
  
  4. Your organisation's child safeguarding policy, which includes a description of your recruitment and vetting procedures. Standards and examples can be found at https://www.keepingchildrensafe.global/international-child-safeguarding-standards.
  
  5. Anything else you think may help us to assess if you meet the requirements for membership.

  Please submit:
  
  1. A motivation letter about your work promoting Barnahus, and why you want to join the Network, in English. Explain what you can contribute to the network and what you hope that membership can contribute to your work.
  
  Your letter should describe your past, current, and planned involvement and activities to promote Barnahus. It should give us an overview of your commitment and action taken to promote, develop, establish or implement Barnahus. It should also give us insight on to what extent any current services you provide (if relevant) are meeting the Barnahus Quality Standards, and what stage you are in your national/local progress to bring Barnahus online.
  
  Please also describe your cooperation with local/regional/national actors on the topic of Barnahus, including if you participate in any working groups.
  
  2. Any relevant documents which can help us to verify what you wrote in your letter. These may be in any language.
