2025 Application for a Youth Grant in the Arts

Grant amount range $100 to $500
  • About Alpine Artisans: The mission of Alpine Artisans is to promote and preserve the arts in the Seeley, Swan, and Blackfoot Valleys of Western Montana. We accomplish this through supporting artists, arts education, outreach, and information gathering and sharing.

Grant purpose: Youth Grants are offered to help young people explore their interests in music, theater arts, fine arts, graphic arts, dance, creative writing, film making, and photography. A grant can be used for individual classes, camps, or art-related supplies.

Eligibility: Students living in the Blackfoot and Seeley-Swan Valleys and who are attending Kindergarten through 12th grade classes in local schools or who are home-schooled are eligible to apply. An individual may receive a Youth Grant a maximum of three times over the course of several years.

Timeframe: Grant applications are received on a rolling basis, meaning that any time during the school year and summer, students may apply for a Youth Grant.

How to apply: Complete this online form and click the Submit button at the very end of the process. A letter of reference is required in addition to the application. Preferred method is for the person you have selected for your reference to use this online reference form. (Note: A non-family member must provide the reference.) Once both the application and reference have been received, members of the Alpine Artisans Scholarship Committee will review the information as soon as possible. There may be follow-up questions from the committee. Typically, you will receive a response from the chair of the committee within 2-3 weeks. Be sure to take this timeframe into consideration and plan ahead.

Who receives the money? Alpine Artisans will send a check directly to the teacher or organization offering the class, workshop, camp, or similar arts-based learning experience.
