  • Carolina Pines Spruce HBCU Scholarship

    The Carolina Pines Spruce HBCU Scholarship is designed to support high school seniors residing in Cabarrus or Rowan County who demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, and a commitment to pursuing higher education at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). To qualify, applicants must have an unweighted GPA between 3.0 and 4.0, complete at least 75 verified community service hours (with verification provided on official organization letterhead), and gain acceptance into a four-year HBCU, with proof of acceptance required. Additionally, applicants must submit two recommendation letters: one from a community member (such as someone from a church or volunteer organization) and one from a school faculty member or administrator. The scholarship provides $5,000 annually for two academic years (fall and spring semesters), paid directly to the school. To continue receiving the scholarship, recipients must remain actively enrolled, maintain a minimum GPA 3.0, and provide updated transcripts by June 1st each year.
