Entering the partnership's fourth year, Transform Mid-Atlantic is excited to join forces with The Facing Project to bring listening and storytelling to the forefront of community engagement in the region. You can visit the partnership's webpage to learn more about past and in-process projects developed by Morgan State University, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, the Johns Hopkins University SOURCE Center, and Allegany College of Maryland. At least one higher education institution or partner organization from the MD, DC, DE, WV, and Northern VA region will be chosen to lead 2025-2026 projects using The Facing Project’s model on one of three topics:
1) Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion
2) Global Citizenship & Sustainable Development
3) Civic Dialogue & Mutual Understanding
3) Food Security & Healthy Futures
If chosen, your institution will receive 40% project fee cost share of from Transform Mid-Atlantic of $3,000, reducing the $7,500 total project fee for campuses selected to $4,500. The following resources and services will be provided to the selected campuses:
- The Facing Project Toolkit;
- Toolkit training for the lead project organizer (including some coaching/consulting throughout the project);
- Writer’s training;
- Editing of all stories (copy and content);
- Book layout, cover design, and publishing;
- Two-hundred copies of the final project book;
- Project promoted on The Facing Project website, across social media channels, and on the TFP's National Public Radio program.
