Your methylation is probably balanced and healthy if your score is 15 or below.

If you scored between 15 and 25, your methylation is likely imbalanced. Working on your methylation may help improve your symptoms, mood, and focus, and decrease your long-term disease risk.

If you scored 25 or more, your methylation is extremely out of balance. Taking simple steps now to balance your methylation will help you to improve your symptoms, mood, and focus, as well as reduce your long-term disease risk.

Remember, methylation imbalance isn't a disease or something your doctor will talk to you about.  This is an imbalance in a foundational chemical process in your body, and it affects every cell and every organ system.

Most methylation imbalance is caused by these two things, and many people have both.

    1. MTHFR gene variances like C677T or A1298C (present in roughly 50% of the population in the U.S.)
    2. Folic acid overdose from fortified food, vitamins, supplements, meal replacements, and many prescription drugs (like birth control pills). Many people show signs of methylation dysfunction even with a single dose >200 mcg (for reference, most multivitamins include doses of 400 mcg).

Methylation imbalance can also be caused by other gene variances
