Oregon Recovers is soliciting proposals for panels and workshops that embody this year's Recovery Community Summit theme of "Unity Within Community." The Recovery Community Summit draws a broad range of people in recovery and the Panels and Workshops should be community-focused rather than clinically focused.
*New for this year: we are looking at holding the event mid-week and not over a weekend. Dates have not been confirmed but will be near or around June 26th.
Timeline for Proposals
May 1st, 2025 Deadline for proposals
July 15th & 16th, 2025 Recovery Community Summit
Please submit your proposal as soon as possible as we will review them on a rolling basis. We will not accept any proposals submitted after the deadline of May 1st, 2025 at 11:59 PST. Submitting a proposal does not guarantee it will be selected.
To help guide proposals and ideas this year panels and workshops have been split into 4 areas of focus:
- Health & Wellness in Recovery
- Intersectional, Inclusive & Affirming Systems in Recovery
- Recovery Policy & Advocacy
- Concepts of Recovery
- Collaboration & Community Building
If you have an idea, but don't have suggestions for qualified panelists, complete the RFP to the best of your ability.
Panels and workshops that specifically aim to support and empower communities of color, rural communities, and the queer community will be given priority. When proposing panelists, please include broad geographic, cultural, and racial representation.
Please Note: In an effort to fully reflect the diverse recovery community in Oregon, all panels should include at least one woman and one person of color. All workshops require two facilitators, each group needs to include a diverse group.
Workshop & Panel Parameters:
- Length: 60, 75, or 90 minutes including an audience participation section and question and answer period.
- Size: Panels should be limited to a maximum of 3 panelists and 1 moderator and must include a minimum of one woman and one person of color.
- Proposals will be evaluated based on relevance to this year's theme, representation of diverse communities, and accessibility of material.
