The Tampa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. offers three distinct scholarship opportunities for African American/Black high school seniors graduating from a Hillsborough County accredited public, charter, parochial, or private high school. Each scholarship has specific eligibility requirements and application guidelines.
All applicants must plan to enroll at an accredited higher education institution in the U.S. for Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.
Please review the following options carefully to determine which scholarship(s) you qualify for:
1. Tampa Alumnae Scholarship (Females Only)
This scholarship is open to African American/Black female graduating seniors who meet the following criteria:
- Attend an accredited public, charter, parochial, or private high school in Hillsborough County, Florida
- Have a minimum 3.50 GPA
- Demonstrate accomplishments in special talents, leadership, extracurricular activities, athletics, or community service
Required Documents:
• Official high school transcript (cumulative summary page only)
• Documented community service (must be on school letterhead or included in your transcript)
• A headshot photo (no selfies or watermarked images)
2. Educational Programs Scholarships
These scholarships are exclusively for participants in the chapter’s youth programs:
- EMBODI Scholarship (Males Only): For African American male seniors who are active participants in the EMBODI program:
- Applicants must submit:
- A reference letter from their EMBODI program mentor
- A personal statement explaining how the program has positively impacted them
- GEMS Scholarship (Females Only): For African American female seniors who are active participants in the GEMS program.
- Applicants must submit:
- A reference letter from their GEMS program mentor
- A personal statement explaining how the program has positively impacted them
3. Daughters and Sons Scholarship
This scholarship is available exclusively to children of Tampa Alumnae Chapter members.
- Applicants must include their parent/guardian’s membership information as part of the application.

• Complete all eligible scholarship sections of the application.
• Submit all required documents by Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
• Follow the file naming convention for all uploaded documents (see examples below):

Scholarship Awards Program:
Scholarships will be awarded at our Scholarship Awards Program on Sunday, May 4, 2025 (details to be provided to award recipients).
