Adopt a Scouting Family Impacted by the Wildfires

In the aftermath of the recent wildfires, many Scouting families in our community have been deeply affected. If your unit is willing and able to adopt a Scouting family in need, please complete the form below. Our mission here is to make sure families receive tailored assistance that meets their individual and immediate needs, that may include: New (not used) clothing in sizes colors, and styles that work for the family. Replacement school supplies. Food delivery/restaurant and grocery gift cards. Cards of encouragement and support. Please make sure the family your unit is paired with provides you with specifics so you can best help them. The most impactful support is support they can use. Good idea: A gift card for the grocery store they prefer. Bad idea: A gift card for the grocery store you prefer. Good idea: New clothes that fit the family members and that they have specially asked for. Bad idea: Used clothes that don’t fit them that you were going to donate to Goodwill. Good idea: Asking the family for specific items, sizes, types so you can help. Bad idea: Giving an evacuated family goods and supplies they did not ask for, don’t want and now have to dispose of. Good idea: Generic gift cards (Amazon, Target) Bad idea: Gift cards for a store with a single location far away. Thank you for embodying the Scouting spirit of service and generosity.
