  • How Our Catering Staffing Works

    Each Saturday at 9:00am, we send a group message with available shifts for the upcoming weekend. Reply to sign up for the shifts you want, and you'll receive full event assignments and details by Monday. Most events are on Saturdays, with some Fridays and Sundays.

  • Training

    We provide structured, hands-on training to set you up for success at every event. No catering experience required — just bring teamwork and great customer service, and we'll teach you the rest.

  • Staff Development and Raises

    Our pay tier structure rewards dedication and skill growth with a clear path to higher compensation.

    Entry Level — $20/hour: Starting rate during training.


    Associate — $22/hour: After 6 shifts, proficiency at all stations, and a consistent track record of strong work ethic, punctuality, and professionalism. Minimum three shifts per month required.


    Co-Captain — $23–$24/hour: After completing Captain Training. Co-Captains train staff, run events, and represent the team with wedding planners, venue staff, and trainers. Requires strong leadership, unquestionable dependability, and flexible weekend availability.


    Lead Captain — $25+/hour: Lead Captains oversee every aspect of an event — managing complex logistics, adapting on the fly, keeping morale high, and leading by example across all stations. Requires exceptional leadership and fully flexible weekend availability.

  • Other Compensation

    Tips: All catering tips (cash, credit card, and Venmo) are pooled each pay period and distributed to staff based on day-of catering hours worked. This structure ensures tips are shared fairly across the team, rather than depending on which event happened to tip more generously. Tips have historically averaged around $5/hour.

    Travel Pay: is calculated on one-way drive time from our facility to the event venue, at a rate of $15/hour (approximately $0.35/mile).

    Shift Meals: Enjoy some of the finest BBQ in Richmond while you work — shift meals are provided for all staff during events.

    Weekly Pay: Pay periods run Thursday through Wednesday, with direct deposit on the following Wednesday.
