  • StageStruck Performing Arts Scholarship


    The StageStruck Scholarship committee offers scholarships to graduating high school students and current college students who are pursuing careers in the performing arts.  Funds awarded by the StageStruck Board of Trustees are intended to supplement the cost of college tuition. Scholarship funds are awarded based on the applicant’s intention to major or minor in the theatrical arts (performing, tech, design, education, management, admin, music, etc.) The applicant’s past involvement with StageStruck is also taken into consideration when awarding this scholarship.


    The annual StageStruck Scholarship year runs from August 1 through July 31.  First time and renewing applications must be received no later than May 1.  Applicants will receive written notice of the acceptance or rejection of their application by May 31.  The following documentation must be completed and returned by May 1 in order to be considered for this scholarship.  


    For First Time Applicants Only:


    Completed Application Form

    One letter of recommendation from a person familiar with the applicant. Those making recommendations may not be members of the applicant’s immediate family.  

    Letter of recommendation include the following criteria:

    One character reference letter from an adult (over the age 21) who has known the applicant for five or more years OR One letter of recommendation from an arts instructor at the high school from which the applicant is graduating OR from an arts instructor who has personally worked with the applicant such as a former director, stage manager, producer or private arts instructor (voice, dance, piano, acting, etc.) OR from a college instructor who has observed the student in coursework preparing for their major/minor in the performing arts.

    Proof of enrollment in a college or university for the upcoming academic year. A copy of your acceptance letter or the like will be sufficient.

    A copy of the student’s most recent term grades with GPA included.

    A response to the essay question “Why are you considering a future in performing arts?” The response should be 200-400 words in length.

    For Renewing Applicants only:


    Completed Application Form

    Proof of enrollment in a college or university for the upcoming academic year.

    A copy of the student’s most recent term grades with GPA included.

    Failure to include the documents listed above will disqualify consideration of the applicant’s request for scholarship funds.
