  • DIRECTOR OF CONFERENCE SCENARIO: A mere seven days before miniEnterprize is set to take place at the UBC Sauder School of Business and Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre, you're hit with a curveball: UBC reaches out to inform you that, due to an unexpected booking conflict, the Alumni Centre will not be available for your closing ceremony. With the event's grand finale at stake, you're tasked with quickly devising a plan to ensure the conference ends on a memorable note without access to the original venue. How will you approach this situation?

  • DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION SCENARIO: 10 minutes before finalist presentations, you discover that you have miscalculated the scores of several teams. As a result, it is certain that some of the finalist teams you have listed are not truly the Top 6 teams. How will you mitigate this situation?

  • DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS SCENARIO: It is three days before the conference, and the printing service you have ordered nametags from is now informing you that the nametags will not be able to be delivered until after the conference date - including all nametags for attendees, executives, judges, volunteers, and other guests. How will you address this situation?

  • DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES SCENARIO: On the morning of the conference, you realize that only half the judges you have recruited to judge the conference showed up. Without them, presentations and scorings of attendees cannot occur. How will you mitigate this issue?

  • DIRECTOR OF IT & MEDIA SCENARIO: During the submission of miniCases, attendees complain to you that they are unable to submit their miniCase videos to the submission form because it appears to be closed from further responses. You have received only 6 miniCases so far and submitting miniCases is mandatory for teams to qualify for finalist presentations. It is also only 30 minutes before finalist presentations. How will you mitigate this problem?

  • DIRECTOR OF MARKETING SCENARIO: It is less than three weeks to the conference date, and we still need significantly more registrations to better reach our expected capacity. How will you mitigate this issue from a marketing standpoint?

  • DIRECTOR OF OUTREACH SCENARIO: A Business Club you have been in contact with for months has committed approximately 50 of their students as miniE attendees. Now, they inform you last minute that they are considering another case competition instead. How would you respond to encourage them to stay committed to miniE?

  • DIRECTOR OF SPONSORSHIP SCENARIO: The night after the conference, a long-standing partner of miniE contacts you, expressing that they were not very satisfied with how they were represented. They inform you that it is unlikely they will continue their annual sponsorship of miniE. How will you mitigate this issue?
