Unleashing the Power of Network Marketing

    1.1            What is Network Marketing?

What Exactly Is Network Marketing? Network marketing is a business concept that relies on one-on-one sales by independent salespeople, many of whom work from home. A network marketing business may require the formation of a network of business partners or salespeople to aid with lead generation and sales closing. It is a lawful and trustworthy method of marketing which the majority of people will debate on. That leads me to the other names used for network marketing and that is MLM or Multi-Level-Marketing, a pyramid selling structured company not to be confused with a pyramid scheme. Direct sales is another term referred to when talking about network marketing.  I will dig deeper into this in Chapter 2.  Some familiar network marketing companies are Tupperware, Avon, Mary Kay, Amway, Beachbody, NuSkin and doTerra to name a few.  Network marketing has been around since the 1800s.

Let's take a closer look at Tupperware to help you understand.  Established in 1946, Tupperware was first presented to department stores and then the general public in 1947. It stayed on the shelves of department stores until 1949.  A woman named Brownie Wise, a divorced mother and former newspaper columnist, started selling Tupperware door-to-door in her suburban area in 1949.  Brownie Wise joined Tupperware in 1951 as the vice president of marketing when they became aware of her success.  Brownie was undoubtedly a genius at hosting home parties, even though she did not invent them she would bring with her a way in which women could run a business on their own time.  As a result of her working for Tupperware, the company created the party plan, a direct marketing tactic that enabled women to work while concentrating on household duties, in the 1950s. Gender stereotypes were broken when thousands of women started selling Tupperware at home in the 1950s and 60s.

Although times have changed and the industry as a whole evolved, the foundation of network marketing has not changed. This industry is not just for women. According to Uncommon Wealth Partners, in 2018, 75% of network marketing sellers were women and 25% were men. Now that you have an idea of what network marketing is we can dive deeper into all of its components and what you can expect with your new business, tips and information you need and finding the company you want to partner with and that you align with.

1.2            The Advantages of Network Marketing

So, you might be asking yourself “Why Network Marketing?  Nobody could have predicted the events of 2020 or the years that followed. The state of the world economy is at an all-time low, making life difficult for many. The cost of things has increased and seems to be increasing at an alarming rate.

Network marketing is one thing that keeps doing well. People still need to buy consumable products to survive and that does not go away.  With all of the tools available online, there are more prospects for success than ever before.

Here are some other reasons why network marketing is a “YES” for so many people.

    1.     Being able to work from anywhere.

    ·        Being able to work from anywhere is, quite literally, the dream of most people. As long as you have Wi-Fi a tablet, laptop and/or a cellular phone you are in business

    ·        Being able to travel and if you want to take an extended trip you can

    ·        If you have to move no issues because your business is portable

    2.     You make your own schedule

    ·        Do not need to ask anyone if you can take time off for anything

    ·        You work on your own time and set your own daily schedule (you need to be disciplined though)

o   Remember you only get out what you are willing to put in as with anything in life

    3.     No Commuting

    ·        The time and money you can save by not having to make the daily journey to your business or day job is enormous

    ·        Time to spend with your family or where it matters most to you would be a better use of it

    ·        Great for stay-at-home moms or dads
