Placemaking Project of the Year 2025

Use the criteria below to write your submission. We haven’t provided a maximum word count, but your submission will be marked against quality rather than quantity. We strongly advise that you supply supporting images and or documents with your submission but limit your overall submission to 2mb.

For this category the judges are looking for a scheme which has really created a sense of ‘place’.

The scheme will demonstrate a meaningful contribution to improved social and ecological outcomes with the intention of promoting peoples’ health, happiness and well-being and stand out from the competitors.

The scheme must be completed or at practical completion to be considered.

How does the scheme promote residents’ health, happiness and well-being?

How does the design encourage a sense of community and enhance the local environment?

Explain how vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists have been considered?

Can you provide any further information on how you have exceeded customer expectations? Please include up to two testimonials.

As a business or as part of this project how have you advocated inclusivity? (This could be on site recruiting ethnic minorities or mix of sexes, or perhaps marketing the scheme to a diverse group, or how you are looking at expanding inclusivity within your business/schemes in the future?)
