  • About this event

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Abilities Tennis clinics in Winston-Salem. Abilities Tennis of North Carolina (ATANC) provides tennis programming for athletes with intellectual disabilities ages 8 and up. Volunteers play an important role in making these clinics possible for the athletes. We do require that you have some level of tennis knowledge.

Coach David Livengood will be the head coach. Kevin Kranis, the volunteer coordinator, can be reached at kevin.kranis@gmail.com.

Volunteers will help on the courts assisting with ball and racquet drills to help teach the Abilities athletes the highly adaptive game of tennis. Abilities athletes range in skill level with some learning how to hold and swing a racquet to hit red-dot starter balls and others playing full court with regular yellow balls. Here is ATANC's Volunteer Overview Video that helps explain the way clinics are run and how volunteers support the program.

Volunteer Requirements are listed below for those 18 and up. Please let Kevin Kranis know when this is complete. It takes about 2 hours to finish, but it does not have to be done in one sitting.

Thank you again for your time and support. This time on the court will certainly be the highlight of your week! Learn more about the program at www.atanc.org.
