Section 2: SAE Project Overview

Introduce yourself and your SAE project by submitting a video that highlights your project and demonstrates the safety measures you have implemented.
Video Submission
Videos must be no longer than 60 seconds and address the topic of safety improvements related to the SAE category selected. Videos should describe/show:

1. Who you are

2. What chapter you’re in

3. What your SAE project is

4. The safety improvements you have made to your SAE project.

Videos must be appropriate for audiences of all ages. Never put yourself or others in dangerous situations during filming. Utah FFA reserves the right to exclude videos deemed inappropriate.

Videos must document a minimum of two sample measurements from the 2024 FPS.03. Foundational Pathway Skills as part of the AFNR content standards.

Ideas may include:
- Changes to safety protocols
- Equipment updates
- Safety equipment purchases
- Installation of PPE, guards, warning signs, etc.

Section 3: Current Safety Protocols
What current safety protocols are in place for your SAE project?
Have you completed any trainings or safety certifications that are relevant to your SAE project?
If you answered YES to the above question, please list the name of the training/certification and the issuing organization.
What personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for your SAE project? Provide a list of PPE items used during your project activities.

Section 4: Livestock Production Safety Details

For livestock-related projects, please answer the following questions:
What safe handling procedures and equipment do you use to reduce the risk of injury to both you and the animals?
What type of training have you received related to livestock handling equipment?
What biosecurity measures do you have in place to prevent the spread of disease?
Section 4: Crop Production Safety Details

For crop-related projects, please answer the following questions:
What equipment do you use for your SAE project?
What type of training have you received for operating equipment safely?
What training have you received on the proper storage, handling, and application of chemicals?
Section 4: Agribusiness Safety Details

For agribusiness-related projects, please answer the following questions:
What equipment do you use for your SAE project?
What type of training have you received for operating equipment safely?
What training have you received on the proper storage, handling, and application of chemicals?
What training have you received related to electrical systems, fire prevention, and safe fuel storage?

Section 5: Safety Risk Assessment
Using these SAE risk assessment documents, identify future safety concerns or risks you would like to address as part of your SAE Safety application.
