Thank you for showing interest in SCDC's Free Electronic Workshops for middle and high school students!

With these workshops, students are able to learn about electronics and circuitry — giving them an opportunity to learn materials that engineers learn in college.

There is no experience needed to take our workshops, just the desire to learn something new! As a reminder, these workshops are for students from 6th Grade to 12th Grade.

These workshops will be held at the Rio Vista YMCA at Maywood Center - 4801 E 58th St, Maywood, CA 90270.

These workshops will be from 8AM to 12PM. Please remember to pack your student(s) a lunch.

Introduction to Electronics - January 25th

Learn how electricity works, the functions of electrical components, how to build an electrical project, and how to solder wires and electrical components.

Introduction to Ham Radio - TBD

Learn how to use a hand-held radio to communicate with others and why two-way radios are important tools in our society.

Radio Building Project - TBD

Learn the different components of a radio and practice building an FM radio.

Intro to Arduino - TBD

Learn the basics of Arduino and the how to build a project using motors, electrical components, and wires.

Arduino Projects - TBD

Learn advance programming and build unique projects with motors, lights, and sensors.
