    What are the Collective Gardens?
The collective gardens support community building and long term health through 7 months of facilitated garden sessions and education over 5 main garden spaces. They aim to respond to immediate food needs through our harvests, and work on the structural barriers that create food insecurity through learning and advocacy. Our goal is to have a collective garden program that is open and accessible to all, and we recognize the varying needs and benefits that might be important to each participant, including:

    *Accessing fresh, local produce weekly
*Learning and exchanging ecological food production skills
*Participating in an activity to support physical and mental health
*Having access to inclusive green space
*Connecting and building relationships with other community members

  • Community Contribution model

The collective gardens are open to all.  The program uses The Depot’s community contribution model, which is a sliding-scale pricing system that asks participants to contribute to the cost of the services they receive according to their means. This helps support The Depot’s financial sustainability so we can continue to offer quality programs and services to the community.

  • Consent policy/statement

When you give The Depot your personal information, you agree that we can use and store it to manage your participation in our programs. We may also use anonymous data (which doesn't include any personal information) to create reports and statistics. We will keep your information for up to 7 years, but you can ask us to delete it at any time. You can read our full privacy policy here.

  • Format: (000) 000-0000.
  • The information we collect here will be kept confidential by The Depot. For making reports, this information will be shared anonymously and in group format (ex: 60% of our garden participants report they do not have access to another space for growing food).

  •  Principles of collective gardening:

    • Respect and welcome all garden members.

    • Share garden knowledge and harvest.

    • Arrive on time for the gardening session. Members who are on time are prioritized for harvest.

    • Commit to at least 3 gardening sessions/month and one water shift/month.

  • Contribution

Please read the following, choose your contribution level, and submit this form to complete your registration!

What is the Community Contribution Model?
A contribution scale ensures affordable access for everyone while supporting The Depot's financial sustainability. Seasonal contributions range from  $10 to $400, depending on your financial situation. We believe everyone should have access to growing food — so no one is turned away for lack of funds.

Thanks to generous funders, this program is significantly subsidized so it can remain open and welcoming to all.
