    Background Check Policy

    Community Matters 2, Inc. is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all employees, volunteers, and the individuals we serve.o uphold this commitment, we conduct comprehensive background checks on prospective and current employees in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), other applicable federal and state laws, and company procedures.

    Procedure:

    1. Authorization: Prior to conducting a background check, applicants will be required to complete disclosure and authorization forms, either electronically or in writing, permitting Community Matters 2, Inc. to perform specific background checks.


    2. Scope of Background Checks: he background check may include, but is not limited to, verification of the applicant's:

    • Employment history
    • Educational credentials
    • Criminal record 
    • Professional licenses
    • Driving records

    3. Confidentiality: All information obtained from the background check process will be maintained in strict confidence and used solely for the purpose of evaluating candidates for employment.


    4. Compliance with FCRA: n compliance with the FCRA, if a consumer report is used as a factor in an adverse hiring decision, the applicant will be provided with a pre-adverse action disclosure, a copy of the FCRA summary of rights, and a notification of adverse action letter.

    5. Non-Discrimination: he existence of a criminal record will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment.ach situation will be evaluated individually, considering the nature and relevance of the offense to the position applied for.

    6.Record Keeping: ll records obtained through background checks will be stored securely and retained in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.

  • Training Requirements

  • At Community Matters 2, Inc. (CM2), we are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the youth we serve. To uphold this commitment, all employees are required to complete the following training programs, which will be provided and funded by CM2:

    1. Positive Youth Development Training: This program focuses on fostering the strengths and potential of young individuals, promoting their growth and success.

    2. Mandated Reporter Training: As part of our duty to protect children, staff must be trained to recognize and report any signs of abuse or neglect, in compliance with state laws.

    3. CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification: To ensure preparedness in emergency situations, staff will obtain certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use, and First Aid.

    Additionally, throughout your tenure with CM2, you may be required to participate in further training sessions pertinent to your role and the evolving needs of our programs. These ongoing professional development opportunities are designed to enhance your skills and effectiveness in serving our community.
